San Francisco’s annual Chinese New Year Parade is tonight, Saturday, February 15, starting at 5:15pm! Montgomery Station is the closest BART station to the start of the parade, at Market and 2nd streets. Embarcadero and Powell St. stations are also close to the parade route. 👇

We will not stand for this vile racism and hate. Seeing someone spread this hideous message is a sobering reminder of the racism that sadly still exists in our society. The SFPD will assist @SheriffSF in finding whoever did this and bring them to justice.

Overnight, our City Hall was defaced with racist and sexist slurs. This hateful act is a painful reminder of the work we still need to do. Like many, I confront this kind of hate almost every day online. But I want to be clear, this disgusting racism and sexism isn’t just about me, it hurts everyone in our city.

And while someone attempted to stain our community with racist vitriol and hatred, stains can be lifted.

These are the moments when San Francisco demonstrates that our city and people cannot, and will not, be intimidated.
