Thank you, Mayor @DanielLurie, President @RafaelMandelman, and DA @BrookeJenkinsSF for joining me at the SFPD Pride Month Celebration held with the SF Police Officers' Pride Alliance! We gathered today to honor the resilience and contributions of our LGBTQIA+ community.

@SFPDSouthern @SFPDCentral @SFPDIngleside @SFFDPIO @SF_DPH @SFPDRichmond Sergeant Nathan Lim, Sergeant Shante Williams, Officer Andrea Acosta, Officer Calvin Douglas, Officer Jacob Menis, and Officer Simon Wong from @SFPDTaraval Station responded to a 911 call from a suicidal man who wanted officers to shoot him and resolved the situation peacefully.

Officers Mark Lustenberger and Timothy Watts from @SFPDIngleside Station, along with @SFFDPIO members Assistant Deputy Chief April Sloan, Paramedic Scott Patterson, EMT Samantha Sabatelli, and @SF_DPH member Dr. Shivika Dharamrup showed empathy and patience while working with a resident living in hazardous conditions, while preserving her life and dignity.

@SFPDSouthern Sergeant Antonio Santos, assigned to @SFPDCentral Station, engaged with an individual doused in gasoline while holding a lighter, threatening self-harm, while there were bystanders around.

Officers Stephen Hom, Christopher Prescott, and Lars Nelson assigned to @SFPDSouthern Station responded to a woman displaying erratic behavior and ultimately detained her without force and transported her to a hospital.

Sergeant Eric Mahoney, Officer Thomas Anderson, Officer Tommie Bartley, Officer Timothy Macaulay, Officer Carson McKenzie from @SFPDRichmond Station along with @SFFDPIO members Assistant Deputy Chief April Sloan, Captain Edward Bird, Paramedic Logan Rasmussen, EMT Braelan Mamaradlo and @SF_DPH members Dr. Ricardo Carrillo, Clinician Brian Fields responded to a woman who had caused fear in the community leading to compassionate and collaborative intervention.

Earlier today, we held the Annual Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Awards Ceremony to honor officers, first responders, and public servants who exemplify best practices and outstanding use of CIT principles and methodologies for de-escalation and life preservation. The ceremony highlighted five incidents in 2024. Watch each of the incidents below. 🧵

Bicycle Awareness Month is a good time to remind drivers that when passing a bike, please keep at least three feet of distance between your car and the bicyclist! #GoSafelyCA

This story of a 1870 stolen family heirloom recovered and returned to its rightful owner reminds us of why our officers are committed to doing this job. The trust the victim placed in the SFPD - combined with outstanding police work - helped bring this story to a meaningful and positive close.

AAPI HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION: @SFPDChief Scott co-hosted our own #AAPIHeritageMonth celebration with the @SanFranciscoPOA to welcome community members and leaders from across the city at our headquarters. SFPD is committed to working together with our diverse communities on keeping the city safe. Thank you for taking the time to gather with our police officers, professional staff, command staff for an afternoon of inspiring remarks, cultural performances, and light refreshments. Kudos to the SFPD Lion Dance Team for the energy!

Thanks to our Real-Time Investigation Center (RTIC), officers quickly located and arrested these retail theft suspects. A clear example of how technology is helping us keep our city safe.
