@adam_louis52328 Another word salad, blah blah blah. Anti zionists don't believe that Israelis are "inherently" anything. Israel and much of its population have done, and are doing, evil things.

It’s humorous when antizionists imagine themselves as engaged in “arguments” and “facts” about Israel, as if there were arguments and facts that could be marshaled to prove that an entire people—a protected national group—were inherently evil. On the other hand, if I oppose racism, thereby committing myself to the universal axiom that no people is inherently evil, then it’s clear that no argument can ever prove the contrary.

@adam_louis52328 @ezraklein @Ncriio Huh? We antizionists merely oppose the imposition of a Jewish supremacist ethnostate in Palestine. Oh, and we also oppose genocide, ethnic cleansing, shooting little children in the head, triple tap bombing attacks on rescue personnel, and the use of dogs to rape prisoners. OK?

According to @ezraklein, antizionism is a neutral reaction to Israel's actions over the past two and a half years, driven by genuine concern for human rights. But scientific data from the @ncriio completely contradicts his view. The data shows that antizionist views correlate with a heightened tendency toward moral inversion — a systematic distortion of the perceived human rights records of authoritarian versus democratic states. Antizionists misjudge human rights. If antizionists would claim concern about Israel's drift from liberal democracy, then they themselves tend to equivocate between, or outright prefer, authoritarianism to democracy. My piece with @pianozack, who led the study, at the @TheFP

@kinsellawarren So the Jewish socialist Bundists, the ultra orthodox Jews, the liberal assimilationists, the religious and cultural jews, and all those palestinians who were kicked off their land and were all anti-zionists are a classic hate movement? Do some more research

There is absolutely zero non-racist form of antizionism. Zero. Zip. Nada. Efes. Anyone who calls themselves antizionist is knowingly choosing to identify themselves with the racist hate movement that goes by that name. The same one that stands outside of synagogues and chants for the murder of “settlers.”

Calling antizionists antisemitic is the greatest mistake a Jewish person can make, as much as it feels, at first, emotionally justified and factually accurate. The more you call them antisemitic, the more they feel emboldened, and the more they cast you in the image of an "evil Zionist shutting down opposition to Israel's crimes." Antizionism is maliciously constructed to bypass and invert accusations of antisemitism, and its difference from classical antisemitism makes it so that attempts to map antizionism onto 'antisemitism' damage Jewish credibility. That credibility is restored only when we directly call them antizionists—using the very term they use for themselves—and condemn the racist hate movement that antizionism is.

@EliAfriatISR Really? Are you kidding? Is that why your snipers targeted children with headshots and center mass shots? You are the ones who conflate Jews with Israel. The rest of us don't have that problem.

Hey @adam_louis52328, would you call Moshe Dayan's speech, where he boasted "We are the generation of colonisers" and indicated, with pride, that they were dispossessing the land and villages where the Palestinian Arabs, "and their ancestors, have lived," an "indigenous rights'" speech, akin to Red Cloud’s Address at Cooper Union?

Here’s what so many people don’t understand: Oct 7th changed everything for Israel. And Israel is never going back to a “before Oct 7th” world. Israel is never going back to a world of living next door to people pledged to its destruction. And all Arabs/Muslims/Palestinians in the region really need to understand this.

I think about something @EylonALevy said to me every single day. “Survival means choices.“ It’s so true. So much of the discourse seems to assume we are entitled to an imaginary world where countries don’t have to make difficult choices about national security. It’s not true for Israel and it’s not even true for us Americans, though we are currently too busy fighting over culture war nonsense to realize people want to conquer us and are winning. Have you ever talked to a Jewish mother whose child is doing a tour in Gaza, spending sleepless night and wondering if you’ll ever see them again? I have. Have you ever talked to one whose child is having a mental breakdown from the horrors they saw? I have. How about one who lost her child in the October 7th attacks? I have. Israel is making impossible choices to survive. No Israeli wants to do this. No one wants to run into bomb shelters constantly. No one wants to send any more of their children to war. They are exhausted, but they will also do whatever it takes to survive. I don’t understand why their choice to live is so clear to me and so unfathomable to most Democrats.

Over 4/5th of the people taken out were terrorists? That is an EXCELLENT civilian to combatant ratio. I don’t understand what people expect Israelis to do. Lebanon has been partially captured by Hezbollah, and they indiscriminately target Israel civilians. Are Jews just supposed to die?
Israel Foreign Ministry@IsraelMFA

More than 200 of those who “lost their lives” were Hezbollah terrorists who, over the past 40 days, have fired unprovoked and without pause 6,500 missiles, rockets, and UAVs at Israeli civilians.

@BriannaWu Israel is not “taking out the terrorists trying to kill them” any more than it was trying to kill the people who attacked them on Oct 7. Israel looks upon its arab neighbors as “animals” and in every case bombs and kills the civilian population whether in Gaza, Lebanon or Iran.
