@DiscipleFidei I do hope that Christ advocates for me half as hard as James White advocated for everyone to read his book in that debate. Seriously, Jacob needs to write a book just so he can also pedal a book at debates. There were so many books being peddled I thought it was a Barnes & Noble.

LDS members have seemed increasingly bitter lately, especially after their honorary prophet, Jacob Hansen, struggled to keep up with Dr. James White in the debate. I do enjoy seeing God win.

Wearied with long continued vexation and persecution, the council of the Apostles now determined to seek peace for the Saints, amid the far-off and almost unexplored deserts and mountains of the interior. If so, we can only recommend, to one so slow of heart, to search the Scriptures, and all good books extant on the subject. And, while he searches, let him turn from his sins, and live in newness of life, and call upon God, the Father of all, in the name of Messiah, that his understanding may be enlightened, and his stubborn heart subdued, and constrained to yield to the force of Truth.

The Ben Shapiro slander on @latterdailys is really odd. Objectively, Ben is someone who encourages Christians to live their values because it makes society a better place. Would love to see them have @LukeFHan on to advocate for Ben's stance among LDS politics and culture.

I'll save you the time. Nowhere in this rant does James White explain what Jacob got wrong or what exactly he misrepresented. His big "gotcha" was that Jacob had to correct a quote from Aaron S saying Anne Frank was predestined to be Jewish, die in a concentration camp, and go to hell. It's true Aaron didn't say that. What Aaron did say was "Yes" to Kwaku asking him if Anne Frank was predestined to be Jewish, die in a concentration camp, and go to hell. I'd love to hear James explain how that correction helps his argument whatsoever 😂

I really enjoyed my debate with Dr White last night. I think I was able to expose the moral problems with Calvinist theology (as held by the vast majority of Christians) and I did not feel he was able to offer a compelling response. After I reached out my hand and said “Hey Dr White thanks for doing this” He looked down at my hand and told me I was reprehensible and refused to shake my hand. I was disappointed by this. Perhaps Dr White has ill feelings toward me but I don’t have any toward him and I appreciated the opportunity to engage on the subject of Calvinism.

Quick note on the debate last night against Jacob Hansen, neo-Mormon/Oslerite. I used one term during the debate a number of times, and repeated it with almost every person I talked to afterward while greeting folks: reprehensible. “deserving censure or condemnation.” Irresponsible. Dishonest. And in this case, based upon a clear and obvious prejudice, bias, and animosity, not so much toward me, but toward “Calvinism.” His opening statement was, quite honestly, below Dave Hunt. Seriously. And for those who listened to the debate review we did with Joe Heschmeyer, that was truly surprising. Hansen is smart. He was prepared to address the Papacy. But last night? Nothing but emotional mud slinging. All the standard heart-string pulling “oh its about the babies” tripe that you can find in any corner of YouTube. And the entire night the man did not raise a single verse that I had not addressed, fully, in _The Potter’s Freedom_ a quarter century ago. Yet he did not give the slightest evidence of knowing what I had written, though he quoted from the book. I am convinced Hansen’s “crew” put most of his notes together. At one point he “quoted” Aaron Shafovaloff (who was seated in the back row) and Aaron literally interrupted him, “I never said any such thing.” Before the cross ex Hansen asked to have time to apologize and admitted the quote was “second or third hand.” Then, during cross, he “read” me a quote from _The Potter’s Freedom.” I was sitting right next to him and I asked, “Are there any dots (ellipses) in that quote?” and asked for a page number. I watched him scanning his computer screen like he had never even seen the citation before. He admitted there were ellipses. I said, “Of course there are.” And he never gave me the citation. A kind young lady in the first row happened to have TPF with her, and she handed it to me. So he decided to go on to the next question. My conclusion is others “quote mined” the book and gave him a file with “good quotes to use.” As I pointed out, he never even attempted to refute the exegesis in the book because he lacks the capacity to do so. And he clearly did not read it seeking to understand the position. When he presented what “Limited Atonement” meant in his opening, it wasn’t even close. Jack Chick level silliness. So, I gave him no quarter. I was not going to play “buddy buddy” with someone who showed so little respect for simple honesty as to behave and speak as he did. He is not an orthodox Mormon on any level, and that came out when I tried to get him to at least admit that his god became a god by obedience to gospel ordinances and principles. I wanted to make the point (and did) that a finite god who became a god is insufficient grounding for transcendent principles and morality, hence undercutting the claim of his thesis. Oh, and the first question from the audience to him was whether God had killed every man, woman, and child in Noah’s flood. Not exactly surprising, he rejected the flood story on the basis of “science.” (Joseph Smith accepted the flood story as history). I am looking forward to the video coming out. If you think the cross-ex with Heschmeyer or Austin was “hot,” well…nothing compared to last night. But if you were hoping for a really thought out presentation from the LDS side…nothing. Think of the 1 million “John Calvin was a heretic” videos done by KJVO fundies on YouTube: same stuff. So when you see how I let him get away with nothing in cross-ex, the reason is simple: I knew he was capable of serious interaction, but had chosen the cheap way of dishonesty and misrepresentation, joined with emotional appeals to the audience. I have zero respect for such behavior. None. When I wrote TPF, I showed Geisler the utmost courtesy in researching his position, accurately representing it, etc. Hansen showed me, and the position, and the audience, nothing but smarmy condescension and disrespect. Finally, it is truly enlightening to watch neo-Mormonism, or maybe Oslerism, developing. Why the GAs are not only allowing this, but seemingly, promoting this, is beyond me.

I just watched a debate between Jeff Durbin and Dr James White against Kwaku. Kwaku gave the best debate performance I’ve ever seen from an LDS position. He not only defends, but goes on the offense. Durbin and White crash out so hard, it was hard not to laugh. Huge Kwaku W.

Suddenly they’re the ones telling everyone else they’ve been misled. No. They didn’t discover truth. They discovered a new revenue stream. There is serious money right now in turning on the very people who made you relevant. There is attention, media amplification, and a fresh audience waiting to reward you for it. So the script flips. The tone shifts. The lectures begin. And the same people who once spoke with certainty now speak with superiority. They wrap it in big language about principles and clarity, but look a little closer and the pattern is obvious. The timing is perfect. The messaging is coordinated. The outrage is monetized. This is not bravery. This is market positioning. Meanwhile, the people actually living in the real world, the voters, the families, the ones who don’t get paid to post, are treated like props in someone else’s content strategy. Talked down to. Written off. Used when convenient and discarded when not. That’s where the real frustration comes from. And here’s what makes all of this even more absurd. They’re squandering a once-in-a-generation moment. Donald Trump is not a polished conservative intellectual. He’s not Buckley. He’s not Reagan in tone or temperament. He’s blunt. He’s transactional. He’s often crude in ways that make even his supporters wince. And yet, in the only place that ultimately matters, results, he has governed like the heir to Reagan’s legacy. He reshaped the federal judiciary in a way conservatives had talked about for decades but never fully delivered. He put forward justices who helped overturn Roe v. Wade, something that for years was treated as a distant goal. He proved it was real. He pursued policies rooted in national interest, economic strength, and American leverage, not as theory, but as action. That combination unsettles people because it does not fit neatly into any ideological box. He is not a movement conservative in the traditional sense, but he has delivered outcomes that movement conservatives once said they wanted. And politics is not a clean business. It never has been. It is rough. It is personal. It is unforgiving. And it demands a level of resilience that most of the people commenting from the sidelines have never had to show. Trump has taken hit after hit, from media, from institutions, from political opponents, and yes, from people who once claimed to be on his side. And he keeps standing. They threw everything at him, and when that wasn’t enough, someone tried to take his life in Butler, Pennsylvania. That is not rhetoric. That is reality. And by the grace of God, he survived. Most people would disappear after that. Most people would step back, protect themselves, and walk away. He didn’t. So spare me the lectures from people who found a more comfortable lane the moment things got difficult. It is easy to posture. It is easy to pivot. It is easy to cash in. It is a lot harder to stand in the fire and keep going. And while all of this noise floods social media, something else is happening that people should be paying attention to. Foreign actors are pouring fuel on every internal disagreement, amplifying the most divisive voices, boosting the most inflammatory content, and creating the illusion that the country is more fractured than it actually is. They do not need to invent our disagreements. They just need to magnify them until it feels like there is nothing else. That distortion becomes reality for people who live online. It creates a collective illusion that America is coming apart at the seams, that neighbors have nothing in common, that the center has collapsed. But step outside of that bubble and it tells a very different story. Most Americans still believe in the core principles that built this country. Individual liberty. Personal responsibility. Equal justice under the law. The idea that rights come from God, not government. Those ideas have not disappeared. They are not fringe. They are the quiet consensus that does not trend on social media because it is not designed to provoke. What we are seeing online is not the country. It is a distorted mirror of it. And too many of these influencers are either blind to that or actively participating in it because it benefits them. You don’t have to like everything about Trump. Nobody does. But pretending this moment is ordinary, or that what has been accomplished is meaningless, is not serious. Some people are willing to take the hits to move the country forward. Others are just trying to make sure they land on their feet when the winds shift. And people can tell the difference. President Trump is the president we need at this historic moment. And he needs our support now, more than ever!! #MAGA
