When a dog is locked in like this and won't let go... what is the actual safe way to stop it?
This looks terrifying, but we need to explain what is actually happening here. The dog isn't being "evil." He isn't even mad.
He is in High Drive.
Certain breeds are built with a "prey drive" so high that when it triggers, the rest of the world disappears. The adrenaline dumps, the jaw locks, and their hearing literally shuts off.
You see them trying to pry him off? You see the tools failing?
That is because in this state, pain compliance doesn't work. You can't hurt them into letting go because they don't feel it. Their brain is 100% focused on the "mission."
This isn't a "bad dog." This is a Ferrari engine with no brakes.
Respect the power of these animals. Once the switch flips, it is very hard to flip it back.
