Legendary boxer and entrepreneur George Foreman has passed away at the age of 76, his family announced. Foreman had a record of 76-5 in his distinguished boxing career, which included winning his first professional fight by knockout over Donald Walheim at Madison Square Garden in 1969. RIP to a legend 🙏

Sportswriter, John Feinstein, passed away today. John was a great human and had shown he could write a little bit, too. In his book “The Last Amateurs,” he followed a Patriot League Basketball season, where he arguably wrote the greatest lines of his storied career…

@franfraschilla I also like the idea of the NIT becoming the Mid-Major Tournament - 64 teams starting on Monday (after the NCAA Round of 32). It would be really meaningful for the teams (like Army!), and people love the all day basketball.

My 3 ways to improve March basketball: 1. Expand the NCAA Tournament to 72 team with 32 automatic qualifiers, 24 seeded at-large teams and 16 at-large teams that play in First 8 on Tuesday/Wednesday. No auto qualifier will play in First 8. With respect to my friend, Tom Izzo, low & mid-major conference champions ought to be rewarded & not denigrated. 2. The Transfer Portal will open 2 weeks after Selection Sunday. This gives time for teams, coaches & players to decompress. 3. Play the entire 32-team NIT in Las Vegas over a 9-day period beginning the Tuesday after Selection Sunday. Championship game held on Tuesday of 2nd week.
