@CJGriffinEsq Looks like she runs an office that signed a deal and took millions in grant money, and is now gaslighting the population about infrastructure that already runs and exists But she got honor board at Annapolis for covering up a cheating scandal. So lying and cheating is her ethos

Pretty sure the headlines that Sherrill wants is that she's fighting to save taxpayers $48 million. Only the true haters bash her for it. To everyone else, it looks like she isn't afraid to disrupt status quo to protect taxpayers & make the state more affordable

@WhiteHouse Yeah now factor in all the money you stole from the populace through tariffs while gaslighting them that foreign companies were paying them when it was American small business owners like myself getting the bill

@theficouple Well. Assuming a modest 10% down conventional loan with average taxes and a currently common 6% interest rate that’s $2700 a month interest+principal. Likely closer to 4k with taxes and insurance. Typically 1/3 of income is common so yes. With around 144k a year it’s doable easy

Hot take: If you want a $500,000 home but make less than $160,000/yr? You cannot comfortably afford a $500,000 home. ...Do you agree?

@SenatorJoeCryan Stop taking advantage of stupid people to try and grab money for the State, NJ signed a deal and the trains already exist. Common Democrat ploy. Point and scream “big greedy business” while they pick Peoples pockets while distracted

@nazzobetweeting You mean like host cities are suppose to provide free public transportation? Like what makes you think the train system is magically going to cost more now. This is the governor lying and using the brainwashed support she gets to money grab.

FIFA’s pushback on Mikie Sherrill’s comments gets to the core of the issue. FIFA required very tangible costs cities and states must pay for. What do they get in return? Proverbial « economic impact. » Problem is, FIFA is promising « millions of fans. » An absurd number.

@vingopal It’s literally apart of the deal for the host city. It’s also literally something that runs already there and you’re just taking advantage of stupid people. You guys literally need to stop gaslighting, it’s cringe. NJ is raising the prices and charging people more money

As the proud host of the highly anticipated World Cup, New Jerseyans should feel excited about the economic boom and the camaraderie of nations it will bring to our state, and not have to worry about price gouging and additional financial strain to NJ Transit. FIFA is positioned to make billions of dollars in profit, and forcing our transit system to foot the bill for expanded access is an unacceptable cost to our residents. I applaud the Governor’s firm stance and strong initiative to dispute the additional costs on our transit system.
Governor Mikie Sherrill@GovSherrillNJ

We inherited an agreement where FIFA is providing $0 for transportation to the World Cup. And while NJ TRANSIT is stuck with a $48 million bill to safely get fans to and from games, FIFA is making $11 billion. I’m not going to stick New Jersey commuters with that tab for years to come. FIFA should pay for the rides. But if they don’t – I’m not going to let New Jersey get taken for one.

@benlandautaylor Actually just make student loans backed by the university that takes them instead of the Government, who owns something like 90% of student debt

Student debt discourse is bananas. The core complaint is some people have loans they can't pay off. There’s a standard policy for exactly this issue that's worked super great for centuries. In my lifetime we stopped using it for this one specific loan for no good reason.
Ben Landau-Taylor@benlandautaylor

The absolute lowest-hanging fruit in domestic policy is just "make student loans dischargeable in bankruptcy again, like they were before 1998".

@ThenInvest @UnfilteredSoccr @landondonovan I know this bc I Capo’d nearly every single game for a USL team that went defunct after 3 years because it had no fans and tv revenue doesn’t exist past the first tier. So don’t lecture or assume what I have personally experienced

@coolerking28 @UnfilteredSoccr @landondonovan For example, 3rd tier teams will pay for players to play, not pay to play. This means more good players, more competition. Lots to explain but don't think you're interested in listening.

@ThenInvest @UnfilteredSoccr @landondonovan …less tv revenue. Find the TV deals, revenue and grassroots fans to populate these lower tier teams. Revenue needs to exist to pay said players in a congested American Sports Market. It doesnt exist for teams to survive being relegated.

@ThenInvest @UnfilteredSoccr @landondonovan 3rd tier teams already pay players. What are you even rambling about? Explain to the common American who is used to minor leagues being farm leagues that when your team gets relegated you’re not getting sent to the minors. Explain to owners that bc of an offseason you will get…

@JackMac FIFA banned all parking at MetLife due to security perimeters. NJ is having to run tons of extra trains and build an expensive new bus terminal at the stadium. There are zero current events at MetLife where 100% of people take transit.

@GovSherrillNJ So you guys don’t charge for NJ transit already? Or do you really lose 48 million daily with your commuter rail network regardless? More fares is more revenue. Do you just assume your taxpayers are dumb or something to try and gaslight them this hard?

FIFA is set to reap nearly $11 billion from this summer's World Cup, yet New York area commuters and residents are being handed the bill.   The least FIFA can do is ensure New York residents can go to the stadium without being gouged at the turnstile. I am demanding FIFA step up and cover transportation costs for host cities and states. New York commuters and residents should not subsidize an $11 billion windfall.
The New York Times@nytimes

From @TheAthleticFC: New Jersey Transit is currently planning to charge more than $100 for return rail tickets from Penn Station to MetLife Stadium for FIFA World Cup games. The 18-mile rail journey ordinarily costs $12.90 for a return ticket. nyti.ms/3Op4Jxw
