Little-known tips for ICSC Las Vegas newbies (this is NOT another “stay hydrated + wear comfy shoes” post 😂)
If you’re heading to Vegas for the first time, here are the real game-changers:
1. Stay the entire time. Don’t dip out early. The magic happens on the last day when the energy shifts and people are more open. Optimize every single minute for conversation — from the moment you land until wheels up.
2. Ride the free buses + light rail. Skip the $30+ Ubers. Hop on the free shuttles and monorail between the hotels and the convention center. The rides are full of attendees… which means built-in conversation time. Strike up talks with the people around you. Some of my best connections started on those buses.
3. Skip the long sit-down dinners. You can eat anytime. Instead, hit every single networking event, happy hour, and after-party you possibly can. The real business gets done in those rooms after the booths close.
4. And most importantly — TALK TO EVERYONE. The introvert in you will want to hide. Don’t. The person grabbing coffee next to you, the one on the shuttle, the one at the booth you weren’t planning to stop at… they could be your next big deal, partner, or friend. Force yourself to say hello. Over and over.
Vegas ICSC is what you make it. Show up ready to connect and you’ll leave with a stack of new relationships instead of just a bag full of swag.
Who else is going? Drop a 🔥 below if you’re planning to work the room like your business depends on it… because it kind of does.

This college student saw my post, and joined us at the event.
He approached me afterwards:
"Listen, I know Claude inside and out, and I'm happy to help teach you how to use it to help your business."
Of course I'm taking him on in it, and we already had our first call!

@SimpleCRE It’s crazy how they are continually able to do deals. Who would want to work with someone like that?
English

@realEstateTrent It is and it’s been a lifesaver for my dumbass running out of gas in the middle of nowhere.

@jmcollard0426 @sneakman22 thoughts here?
I agree with JM. Our 4th quarter intro is embarrassing.. Auburn’s is 100x better.
It’s not that hard.

Something that’s hard to learn as a new broker is compartmentalization. I’m having a hard time doing it as I type this. I’ve been thinking about this deal since I heard the news yesterday and I can’t get it out of my head. Looping over and over how we even got to this point. I’m letting it take up time that could be spent doing deals. Living rent free in my mind.
How do yall get over these situations?
English

@realEstateTrent can I get one real life example? I feel the same but can’t pinpoint it exactly and how they’re using it any better than you’re average joe

Incredible. Didn’t think the NBA would have the balls to do this to KD
