@KDansky @Riley_Gaines_ As a woman, I would rather not have a museum of women’s history month if there are any penises involved Simply not the place for that! Sigh, must it even be said? 😔

@exQUIZitely MT32 was made of pure unobtainium. I had an Adlib card followed by a SoundBlaster. The Adlib was such a game changer A literally. Felt like the pc was finally coming into the same game as the Amiga.

I'm so out of touch, I don't even know if PC gamers these days still bother with sound cards... is that still a thing? What I do remember, though, is that the Roland MT-32 was the most unachievable piece of hardware ever back in the day, at least for me.

@igor_os777 Ummm - I remember when x11 was created and all anyone could talk about. It sucked back then too.

I just want to put this out into the universe again. If you are a homebrew game dev of a system that runs on MiSTer (GB, NES,MD, etc) with a free version or a free demo of you game, I’d love to include it in SuperStation’s Season 1 Homebrew DLC Pack. forms.gle/aAja7HEZQngaZo…

🚨 REMINDER: Schumer & Democrats attempted to NUKE the filibuster in 2022 to DRAMATICALLY EXPAND mail-in voting x.com/ScottPresler/s… The only reason that failed is b/c 2 Dems joined Republicans. They’re both gone now. Schumer WILL nuke the filibuster when he takes power We need to stop pretending like he won’t.

Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) voted to change the rules & nuke the filibuster in order to change our elections. “If the Senate cannot move forward on this legislation, then it is time to reform the rules.” @SenJackyRosen does NOT want you to see this! 🗓️January 20, 2022

Rise of Nations (2003) is easily one of the best RTS games ever. It's maybe no surprise, since Brian Reynolds - the genius behind Civilization II and Alpha Centauri - created it. I sank countless hours into this one, an unspeakable amount really. It was an absolute blast in both single-player and multiplayer. In conversations about the the all-time greats, games mentioned are usually Dune II, Command & Conquer, Age of Empires, Warcraft, and StarCraft - and all deservedly so - but in my opinion Rise of Nations also belongs in that uppermost echelon of RTS games ever made. One of the features that felt more strategic were the visible influence of borders. You could only build inside your own territory, and expanding it was a core strategic layer. Entering enemy territory caused attrition (units slowly took damage over time), encouraging smart expansion and defense, you couldn't just blindly run in. It also had 18 unique civilizations, each had distinct Nation Powers and unique units (e.g., Romans got extra territory, Mongols had powerful cavalry, etc.), giving strong asymmetry without breaking balance - a very tough balancing act in any RTS game with such diverse civilizations. I would assume that you were of fan of RTS games during that era, you also invested a fair bit of your time into this one...

@RDKLInc When +4 was announced, we were excited for the next C64. But on release, it was a huge letdown—made us see marketing was incompetent. Amiga was the last hope. When Pac-Man was announced for the 2600, everyone wanted it. Then it came out & we all wrote off Atari at that point

@RetroMoviesDB To be fair, I’d give up the entire Star Wars sequel trilogy for a nice brisket. The bar isn’t that high.

@tschak I follow retro gaming - haven’t used fujinet because I wasn’t an Atari guy (although the 800 is a gorgeous machine). Is it usable from misterFPGA? It’d take a custom core to take SIO which is technically doable. Following - love the project.

@exQUIZitely And when you figured out how to open the doors and you’d get too excited and slam into the wall above the doors. That was great too.

I will take an educated guess and say not a single soul on planet Earth succeeded on their first attempt at leaving that damned hangar. Raid over Moscow was created by Bruce Carver and published by Access Software in 1984. It was highly controversial in some European countries, causing political tension (when none more was needed - the 80s Cold War was already at full tilt) and leading to bans in several nations. If you own a legal copy of this, with the original box, consider yourself very lucky!

@exQUIZitely I wish TJ would give us a walk thru of Raid over Moscow. Something tells me he’d be good at it, but struggling to get the right key to exit the doors will land one or two “sonofabitch” lines. The world needs more TJ. x.com/rannysnice/sta…
