@JoeWasserman Another factoid: CR acceptance rate is 9%, JMCQ is 19%, JoC has non-public rate AFAIK but I suspect lower than CR. AJPS rate is 6%, APSR is 8%. Not totally sure how to interpret accept rates since if I knew e.g. JoC had a higher rate I'd start sending more of my work there lol

@jacobandrewlong Hm that’s all quite reasonable. Too bad undergrads aren’t sufficiently trained or expert enough to produce exceptional research or theory papers

@JoeWasserman Pretty sure CR has a multi-year backlog so they may just accept everything they like and not worry about how long it takes to print. JoC in my experience is more careful about knowing when something will print at the time they accept it. Not sure about JMCQ

@Kieffer_FR That does change things--but there are certain people I read (but don't wish to follow) that don't appear at all then.

⚠️ I realize that people are tired of taking COVID safety precautions - but the findings from our Long COVID study are serious & I am DEEPLY CONCERNED that we as a nation are completely underestimating the potential long-term impact of repeated infections bit.ly/3XPCCYW

One should take into account that future vaxs & medications may actually prevent COVID & long-COVID. Personal calculus of risks & payoffs should take into account this long game—ie protect yourself during this present dangerous period to arrive intact at the future.

"Compared to no admission screening testing and staff surgical masks, all scenarios were cost saving with health gains. Staff N95s + RAT admission screening of patients was the cheapest, saving A$78.4M." #DavosSafe

I will keep repeating that: Olfactory and cognitive systems overlap in the brain. The virus goes directly into specific brain regions --> brain scan shows volume abnormalities in the same regions ---> patients show cognitive decline and other behavioral alterations #neuroCovid

"In our cohort, all survivors experienced one episode of the original #COVID strain infection." The occurrence of cognitive impairment among older COVID-19 survivors was: 10.2% at 6 months 12.5% at 1 year 19.1% at 2.5 years post-infection. Still don't believe in #LongCovid?

But how is that possible when face masks, respirators, and other PPE are now banned & criminalized in some cities and states?
