The 20mph is honestly an abomination… I can’t explain how infuriating it is. From the car being like wtf you doing. To having to constantly watch the speed. The plebs who thought this up should have their licence taken away. As clearly they don’t know how to drive.

@_VN5 @Johanva26279201 @francesca_kms Looked fine to me, see farther ahead, if van stops due to traffic can continu, van can see you in the mirrors (quite an important one, I've had white vans suddenly decide it's safe to reverse because they can't see me.)

These 2 videos perfectly depict what it’s like cycling in London. You can go from safe streets to traffic madness in just a few pedals. It’s so important that London keeps working to ensure everyone can get from A-B safely. Then we’ll see even more choosing to get around by bike

@_VN5 @francesca_kms You won’t be forever behind a van. And you should always keep enough distance behind a vehicle (whatever it is) so you can react appropriately. Also when driving you can only drive to the right when there is the space and it’s safe to do. In the video neither was the case.

@Johanva26279201 @francesca_kms So forever be stuck behind a van? Or forever be stuck behind a van who could break suddenly? Even when driving I would keep a slightly right position to ensure I can see slightly further ahead of the van.

@_VN5 @francesca_kms As far as seeing ahead, when you can’t, you can’t. So patience would be the name of the game. You don’t take risks in traffic. Btw, I know conditions are different overhere, but in NL in general cyclists are only allowed to undertake, not overtake.

@Johanva26279201 @francesca_kms I didn’t see it that way. It’s a good position to be able to see ahead. You can’t see ahead of the van by being directly behind them. How would you ever know if it safe to overtake?

@LondonTrafficW1 Maybe the issue isn't the design, but the cyclists. Until more regulations and prosecutions come into place cyclists will have no care for others.

I drove today. Borrowed a car. As I drove out of London, I passed lots of cyclists. Very grateful to them for freeing up the roads.

Anti-cyclists double standards. Example one: "Drivers must not cut across cyclists going ahead when turning into a junction" IGNORE - CYCLISTS NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR CARS. Example two: "Cyclists must stop at red lights" AGREE - CYCLISTS SHOULD ABIDE BY THE LAW.

Took my life in my hands yesterday and spent most of the day out and about in the crime-ridden, immigrant hellhole (etc, etc) of #London (where "Nige" didn't do too well in the recent elections). Clearly, this musician, though superficially charming, was up to no good. #farage
