Finally a replacement locker for #OPL at the Hunt Club Riverside Park Community Center. It should be operational by mid-April.

The Bookmobile service is cancelled again today, in River Ward: Carlington (ACC) stop is cancelled I raised the frequency of Bookmobile cancellations most recently at the December 6 City Council meeting and have now written to senior mngt today, repeating my concerns.

@anitavandenbeld @opl_bpo Were you told about the challenges faced by residents, particularly those in some of the most marginalized communities, because OPL fails to acknowledge its underserved areas?

Yesterday, I had the chance to meet with the Chief Librarian and CEO of the Ottawa Public Library (@opl_bpo), Sonia Bebbington, and the local library staff at the Centrepointe branch in #OttWN. We spoke about how libraries are so important to the Ottawa community. They are free, public indoor spaces with accessible services beyond books, including programming, computer services, a makerspace with 3D printing, and more!

Today I visited four Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemeteries in France and Belgium. In every one there was work going on to maintain them in such excellent condition. Impressive. #CWGC

Even worse for OPL access via OCtranspo for needy areas, notably River Ward.

It was good to see a room full of community library enthusiasts at the meeting, and OPL staff open to bringing improved library services and programs to underserved River Ward this fall.
