@MatrixMysteries Well if this is the way she chooses to use money it won’t be her last bankruptcy. And the next one will be your fault too.

22 years old and already $91,300 in DEBT. No house. No safety net. Not even rent she can afford — so she’s living in a camper. $51,000 on a car. $12,000 in student loans. $2,200 in medical bills. Nothing extravagant. Just the baseline. This isn’t excess. It’s survival.

@theficouple They choose not to. High pay often comes with high stress. Lower stress often results in a lower standard of living. These are choices.

@WallStreetApes After residency and board certification she’ll be a specialist and assuming she is a top performer her practice will reward her with $700K to 1M+ annually throughout her career. She’ll be fine.

American medical student just did “horrifying math” on her student loans - Her amount due is $396,945.67 - Annual interest rate: 5.875% - Monthly interest accrual: $1,943.38 Her monthly resident paycheck is $4,054.98 HALF her income goes to just interest… She says if she pays nothing toward interest, the loan would grow to roughly $600,000 by the time she finishes residency Interest rates on student loans are predatory and should be illegal. This is usury

My boomer uncle paid for college working summers at a gas station. $1,200 a semester. Graduated debt free. Bought a house at 24. Told my cousin last Christmas: “You kids just don’t want to work hard enough.” She works two jobs. Has $67,000 in student loans, for a state school. Here’s the math he won’t do: His gas station job in 1974 paid $2.10/hour. >Minimum wage today is $7.25. >Tuition has gone up 1,400%. >His wages went up 3x. >Her debt went up 14x. He didn’t work harder. The math just worked for him. It doesn’t work anymore.

@skumWgmi Their parents bought the same house for $5,000. The grievance generation should do more than just complain.

A boomer bought a house in 1978 for $58,000. Did nothing. Lived in it. Watched TV. Mowed the lawn. Sold it in 2022 for $620,000. That $562,000 didn't appear from nowhere. It came from every millennial and Gen Z buyer who had to pay what the market became. One generation's windfall is another generation's barrier to entry.

How do we fund zero-tuition and universal child care? It’s time for a more progressive corporate tax. Giant corporations have been reaping the benefits of California’s infrastructure and workforce—it’s time they paid their fair share to sustain it. blackvoicenews.com/2026/03/30/por…

@RoKhanna How come Canadians come to the US for medical care. Why? Is it because their system uses less of the GDP? 🤡

The U.S. spends far more on healthcare than other rich countries. $15,000 per person (almost double), 18% of GDP (nearly twice as high), and healthcare inflation is 7% (roughly double others). Yet outcomes are worse. Life expectancy is lower, infant & maternal mortality higher, and chronic disease like diabetes and heart disease higher. Canada with single payer has far lower costs than the US, and even than Germany & Switzerland, and provides better, universal coverage. Most important, in an AI world, people's healthcare must not be dependent on their job. Every doctor should be in network. Medicare for All is needed for our time. It is a moral and economic imperative.

Fellow Canadians, it is time for us to buckle down and renew our efforts to buy Canadian. Our country is under attack from extreme right wing agencies, both at home but mostly from south of the border. Our efforts have helped the country greatly but we need to double our efforts.
