I've been back into dating recently and as a result have been keeping an eye on different men's advice and what not. For the first time in my life, l've come across a lot of talk that a lot of women are bad at sex. Lille a été espagnole pendant deux siècles.
Jusqu'au 2 mai 1668, la capitale des Flandres appartenait aux Habsbourg d'Espagne. Ses remparts portaient les armes de Charles Quint. On y parlait flamand.
Louis XIV avait 29 ans. Il voulait repousser la frontière nord loin de Paris. Ses juristes ont trouvé un prétexte dans une obscure coutume du Brabant : le droit de "dévolution", qui donnait à sa femme Marie-Thérèse, fille du défunt roi d'Espagne, des droits sur les Pays-Bas.
En mai 1667, Turenne entre en Flandre. En trois mois, il prend tout. Vauban enlève Lille le 27 août 1667. Neuf jours de siège.
Mais l'Angleterre, la Suède et les Pays-Bas s'inquiètent. Ils forment une Triple-Alliance contre la France.
Louis XIV négocie vite. Le 2 mai 1668, traité d'Aix-la-Chapelle. La France rend la Franche-Comté. Mais elle garde Lille, Douai, Tournai, Armentières.
Lille est française depuis 358 ans.
Vous le saviez, que Lille avait été espagnole ?

@JohnQueutard Vous avez raison sur le fond institutionnel : les Pays-Bas espagnols relevaient du roi d’Espagne comme comte de Flandre, pas de la couronne castillane. Le raccourci “espagnol” reste celui qu’employait la diplomatie française de l’époque.

@JohnQueutard @CeJour_Histoire Les autres territoires des pays bas habsbourgeois espagnols/bourguignons n'étaient pas plus "rattachés" au début, ca ne veut rien dire. On est dans la féodalité. Charles Quint fait signer à François Ier le traité de Madrid en 1526.

Jusqu'en 1668 et le traité d'Aix-la-Chapelle où la France récupère Lille (et d'autres) en échange de la Franche Comté
