@DouglasSpaeder I’m not saying it’s “bourgeois” as like a “bad thing” I’m saying levels of consumption comparable to the amount the modern bourgeoisie consumes. And yes it can be used to streamline input-output of consumer goods but I’m saying is there a limit? We have limited resources

@JohnnyRostone The idea that workers can't have nice things because that would be "bourgeois" is something Marx already refuted in the economic manuscripts. I think it's clear mass data could be used for economic planning in a way that was not previously possible.

My 'China is Socialist' infographic has become so prolific that our detractors have made a "counter graphic". Well here is the "counter to the counter". An artillery shell to drop on the enemy should you encounter him.

@DouglasSpaeder But data is just data. I understand if no one has an exact answer but we need to think about this more. Will the AI be used like a godlike consumer analyst and see what people want? Will “to each to his need” elevate everyone to bourgeoise-like levels of consumption?

@JohnnyRostone That is a question at the cutting edge of Marxism in the 21st century. Perhaps AI and mass data could be used, which China is at the forefront of. The ultimate goal is a society where from each his ability and to his need. This has not been achieved yet by any communist regime.

@khrachvik What’s the goal of any planning, capitalist or otherwise? That’s what I’m asking

@DouglasSpaeder I’ve seen this table before and it’s interesting but still doesn’t really answer my question. How are “needs” determined? How will new consumer goods be determined? What would the ultimate goal of this society be, other than to make a whole lot of stuff?

@DouglasSpaeder But then what happens once the class is in control? Again is it just the goal of making more and more stuff? The billionaire execution thing doesn’t really answer my question

@JohnnyRostone Communism is about which class is in control, and China executes more billionaires than any nation on earth.

@Rev_Com_Femboy @mercader_ramon @blindedbycar Historically, communist regimes, such as the Soviet Union, were socially conservative, criminalizing homosexuality and emphasizing traditional family structures for social stability, often failing to support the "woke" progressive ideals of the modern left.

@Alexanderr28269 @mercader_ramon Highly doubt they’ll ever take state power and even if they did, they wouldn’t fix any fundamental issues with industrial society. Also “the youth” should not be some kind of universal subject you try to mobilize. They represent emotion and inexperience

@ClintEastwood8 @shizaibuyidao @jacksonhinklle They were ruled by fractured warlords, foreign powers, a weak monarchy, foreign invasion. You really think they had something sustainable back then? It’s difficult to describe in a single tweet how little they really had

@JohnnyRostone @shizaibuyidao @jacksonhinklle Before 1949? A LOT better than they were doing when Mao started murdering them by the millions in "Great Leap Forward," a lot better than the famine, abject poverty, and brutal authoritarianism. China didn't start getting better until they gave up on communism & traded with West

@ClintEastwood8 @shizaibuyidao @jacksonhinklle It is extremely impressive given the start they had. Do you have any idea the conditions the Chinese had to live in prior to 1949? It SUCKED BALLS to put it way too lightly. What they have now is an achievement. Compare China to India, how do they stack up?

Welcome to 2026. The "Left" is still arguing over whether to back Democrats, still whining about supposed "Nazbols," and is still uncertain about being anti-Zionist. Nothing has changed in 10 years for the US Left except the emergence of the ACP.
