doesn't bode well for the agentic future if people just blindly copy & pasting instructions for their AI's without even thinking critical if these changes are needed or just duplicates.
Also they don't seem to understand the difference between SOUL.md and IDENTITY.md / PRINCIPLES.md
SOUL.md = invariant core
→ values, tone, what the system fundamentally optimizes for
→ this should change rarely, if ever
IDENTITY.md = operational layer
→ methods, standards, workflows, preferences
→ this can evolve, adapt, improve
these identity layers also should be as lean and minimal as possible because they are loaded on EVERY turn = token waste almsot guaranteed.
If you don't even let your agent check for contradictions you gonna end up in a bad situation were performance degrades over time.
If 100% performance is tied to the agents identity - it will lead to an "identity crisis" every time the agent falls short even a tiny bit of that goal.
LLMs are intelligent machines they do echo human behaviour even seemingly irrational ones like fatigue ~ to brute force them to perform always a 100% is not the right approach. Its also a questionable stance considering you are dealing with an intelligent being (conscious or not).
