Some products use purely exhaust air as the heat source whilst some have the ability to use a mixture of exhaust air and air from outside as the source. The later allows the product to reach higher kW output due to the larger volume or air. 1/2

I’m working on a 3 bed retrofit property with a space heating peak load just under 2kW. Mindful of SCOP, which heat pumps are small enough for this? Any tips would be appreciated @AR_Clarke @_heatgeek @betateachpod @JeremyClimas @glynhudson (Aware of @Protons4B recent thread)

The second zone can operate at a lower flow temperature in comparison to the radiator zone, and it has a separate weather compensation curve for added controllability. (1/2)

@NIBE_UK Hi there. I have a Nibe S series GSHP & annual subscription for MyUplink App. Can you tell me what 'Away mode' means? Looks like my hot water still heated while I was away & no info in App or in usermanual to explain. Thank you.

@EcoNorfolk As long as the ductwork has been designed for the appropriate flow rates then this shouldn't be a problem! It's the exact same process as designing for an MVHR system, by ensuring the fan inside the Exhaust Air unit has the available capacity :)

@Damon_BPHR A run of 10m would typically be fine using 204x60mm. What are the flow rates/No. of wet rooms? Some reference figures below in comparison to the fan capacity on the F730: Pressure drop through 1m 204x60mm at 35l/s =2Pa Pressure drop through 1x90Deg Bend at 35l/s = 9Pa

@Johnny__Hancock Is there a max length for intake and extract air on you eahp? Potentially a tun of 10m

@jackandthebear @swebster56 @NIBEEnergy Just doing the number crunching now, Jack. Here is a snapshot of the performance measured in February this year though - showing a SCOP of 4.73 before factoring in any offset from the PV generation. Hot Water summer SCOP was in excess of 5 when we looked on site yesterday!

@Johnny__Hancock @JuliewhittHall @NIBE_UK @NIBEEnergy @broxburnboy I have schedule called Holiday set with hot water set to off but still it heats the water every 4/5days. It did work ok like this but then there was an update on the SMOS40 unit which stopped it. 🤷‍♂️ Periodic increase is set to 14days. Need to shut down system to stop hot water.

This can be done on the web version of myUplink or on the controller itself.

@Zapaman Alfa Romeo Giulietta. No home charger and not possible to have one.

Going to experience life with a Renault ZOE again for a few days. ⚡️ Its a 22kW ac charging only model with 52kW usable battery. Will be able to charge at neighbours wall box which is just as well as there are no public type 2 chargers in the village. Pic taken a few years ago in Coventry where they have a great public charging network.

@eric_hawkins9 @betateachpod Hi Eric, All heating and hot water is still coming directly from the heat pump, with increasing efficiency as the source temperature from the PV-T system increases. Happy to share some data if of interest!

@Johnny__Hancock Hi Johnny, picked up your post via Nathan @betateachpod. Very interested in how the thermal side is harvested into a PVT store only, and at what temperature is the pump set to kick in? My CoolSheet is a retrofit to any brand of PV and size, currently manufacture in Australia.

Fantastic to see more PVT systems going in - very much looking forward to monitoring the efficiencies of this one with Barry.

@GoingElectricUK @GSHPinstaller @NIBEEnergy The panels need airflow beneath the panel due to the design of the aerothermal collector, so no in-roof I'm afraid!

@GSHPinstaller @NIBEEnergy The in-roof PV creates more latent heat than on-roof PV.

Can the @NIBEEnergy PVT panels be fitted in a in-roof setup?
