If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be this: Your excuses are lies you've told yourself so often you believe they're truths. For years, I told myself no girl would ever want me, so why even try to date? Excuses justified loneliness, excuses protected me from the pain of rejection. But the reality? Now I'm 42 years old. I graduated college at the top of my class. I've made millions of dollars from my wheelchair, I get more girls than Leonardo DiCaprio. (Okay, maybe not quite that many.) The point? I don't care how low you are right now. I don't care how many people have given up on you. You can prove everybody wrong. You are the only one who decides your future.
