“A combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers at a briefing Monday that the Iran war is part of God’s plan and that Pres. Donald Trump was 'anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,' according to a complaint by a non-commissioned officer.” No one should be weaponizing Scripture for political or personal gain. Yes, wars are a recurring reality in this world. But pushing for “wars and rumors of wars” to happen “so that prophecies can be fulfilled” and “so that Jesus can return sooner” is contrary to the person of Jesus. God only knows when He will return.

Jesus Christ is perfect eschatology* . . . *Which means: Not getting sucked out of your pants and leaving your car unmanned on the highway. Not a sky god coming back to nuke everyone who took a vaccine or didn’t say a prayer. And for those who think they have a more “gracious” end times view: not Jesus annihilating Jerusalem in 70 AD to sweep up the unfinished business He couldn’t complete on the cross. {The eschaton is in fact a pronouncement of tetelestai: it is finished. Let’s go beyond futurism, preterism and all the rest - join our live, 12-session course through the Apocalypse and get back to the simplicity of Christ and Him crucified}

It’s going unnoticed because so much other news is happening, but the war drums are beating again in D.C. The warmongers worry this is their last chance to get the white whale they’ve been chasing for thirty years, an all-out regime change war against Iran. A new Middle East war would be a catastrophic mistake. Our military stockpiles are depleted from three years of backing Ukraine. Our effort to reshore manufacturing has only just begun and will take years to bear fruit. War would worsen our already immense deficit and national debt. Iran is larger than Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan combined. A war would not be easy and could easily become a calamity. Thanks to President Trump’s restraint during his first term, America has a golden opportunity to pull away from Middle East quagmires for good. We shouldn’t throw that opportunity away so that sone D.C. has-beens can feel tough by sending young Americans to die yet again.

I am deeply saddened, sickened, and grieved by Charlie Kirk’s assassination a few days ago. In the book of Ephesians, we are told, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12, NKJV). Let me be clear: The principalities and powers that Paul mentions are not imaginary. They are real strongholds that can infect the mind, take over the soul, and infiltrate the body, leading people to commit acts of vile corruption. Yet we are not powerless against these forces. On the contrary, Paul writes, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4–5, NKJV). By submitting every idle thought to Christ and leaning on Him for the next move, we can destroy these spiritual strongholds and overcome the darkness that seeks to destroy truth and freedom. Charlie Kirk’s untimely death by a corrupt assassin’s bullet joins the tragic losses of figures like Presidents William McKinley and John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, Veronica Guerin, Princess Diana, Melissa Hortman, and Iryna Zarutska in modern history. In his Oval Office speech on Charlie’s death, our president commended him as “a martyr for truth and freedom,” praising his ability to inspire millions. These were exactly my thoughts as I read the headlines. Charlie should be remembered as a martyr for truth and freedom, and his legacy will continue to inspire both older and younger generations. May we always respect his commitment to divinely inspired values. I bought one of Charlie’s books earlier this spring for $10. I actually thought it was a good deal. I never imagined something like this would happen. Many, including Utah’s Governor, have called this a politically motivated assassination, and I can agree. However, I believe it was also spiritually motivated. Charlie Kirk was one of the most effective Christian leaders on the public stage, advocating tirelessly, gladly, and unapologetically for traditional conservative values. Whether you agreed or disagreed with some, many, or even all of his comments and opinions, let’s remember that the resolve of the country he loved, the USA, is to become a more perfect union. The freedoms to debate publicly, offer constructive criticism, and uphold democratic values like free elections, the rule of law, and individual rights are the foundation of a healthy society. May we honor Charlie for championing these values rooted in our nation’s founding, and resolve to promote them ourselves.

@BraddrofliT Are you promoting a second Civil War? I would be weary of any model with the word “secession” in it.

@GovMikeHuckabee I agree with this. Perhaps there should be a legal mechanism for the @UN and other aid initiatives to be fined for any aid mismanagement. It sounds like they need operational changes.

timesofisrael.com/fearing-trump-… So you wore a yarmulke at a campaign event to honor Jewish traditions and Governor Hochul wore a hijab at a funeral to honor a fallen Muslim officer. And as a Christian, you know that neither Judaism nor Islam acknowledges Jesus as the Son of God. Yet you have the gall to criticize her for doing the same thing you did? Seriously, repent and show some respect.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸
In 2024, America voted to end funding and fighting foreign wars. Funding, fueling, and ultimately fighting Russia in Ukraine would be a complete betrayal to the majority of Americans who want nothing to do with paying to murder people in some foreign land over a foreign conflict that has absolutely zero affect on our lives. The same scenario goes for continuing to fund and fight offensive wars on behalf of the secular government of nuclear armed Israel. Republicans will lose the younger generation of voters and may never get them back. Not that they will necessarily flip Democrat because Democrats 100% support the war in Ukraine because it was really started under Obama/Biden. It’s a Democrat driven war that also amassed the usual neocon Republican support. And funding and fighting offensive wars on behalf of the secular government of nuclear armed Israel is supported overwhelmingly by both parties. These younger generation of voters (ages 40-50 and younger) are beginning to feel completely unrepresented by both parties because of the absurd America LAST policies, votes, and tax payer funding that has made life unaffordable and the future bleak for the vast majority of average Americans. I’m in agreement with them in certain areas. The warning signs are beginning to be blaring but Washington DC is still about as deaf as a fence post.

Since we are now around midway through the decade (2020 to 2029), I thought it would be fitting to share a sermon I heard in Texas back on December 29th, 2019, when a pastor prophesied and spoke boldly what God asked him to share about life in the 2020s. I have never shared these notes openly until today. I will admit, I have been pretty curious about this decade by just living it out for myself, as we all have. And while this sermon was written to the church, I believe it applies globally both to all who believe in God and to those who are seeking Him. So without further a due, here it is. @jonworrel/the-2020s-sermon-32a3f6491a3a" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@jonworrel/the…

I am holding you and your team to it sir. I’m sure Gaza civilians are very thankful for your mission! @GovMikeHuckabee @StateDept @GHFUpdates
Ambassador Mike Huckabee@GovMikeHuckabee

Grateful for @JohnnieM for leadership of humanitarian effort in Gaza. Do you get the idea that some people don't want the aid to really get to people in need? @realDonaldTrump gave us all the mission: Get food to hungry people but don't let the savages of Hamas steal it.

Let’s be honest here — the Israeli government is bringing great risk to their own nation, the U.S. and their other Western allies, all in the name of “getting even” with their enemies. Israel attacked Iran while the U.S. was still trying to negotiate with them in a respectable and diplomatic way! The Israeli government needs to learn to turn the other cheek. Around a dozen innocent civilians are now reported dead from this incident. The hatred between Iran and Israel is becoming a self-inflicted tragedy and it’s hard to watch. If the Israeli government will not listen to Jesus preaching the Golden Rule in Matthew 22:37-39, they should at least listen to Moses declaring it in Leviticus 19:17-18 — “‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.” The best way for Israel to respect their neighbors in Iran — and vice versa — is to bring their concerns to the negotiating table — and to keep negotiating even when discussions fall through. This is the Golden Rule. It is God’s way as declared by Moses and it is Jesus’ way as declared in the New Testament.

The Illusion of Thinking in LLMs Apple researchers discuss the strengths and limitations of reasoning models. Apparently, reasoning models "collapse" beyond certain task complexities. Lots of important insights on this one. (bookmark it!) Here are my notes:
