@HMRCcustomers Thanks - must admit I was hoping not to have to go through the pain of contacting HMRC by phone again 😀

@HMRCcustomers I have a new company car and I've been advised to notify HMRC to update my tax code. I've tried the online system but I didn't know how to answer some of the questions. It's a salary sacrifice arrangement.

@HMRCcustomers Yes, I've found the form and I can see where to input the P11D value. But I'm not sure how to answer the questions about how I have paid for it. I pay through monthly salary sacrifice and haven't paid any lump sum.

@HMRCcustomers Hi Martin, my employer says they'll submit the P11D in July, meaning the tax code would be adjusted the following April. They suggested that I call HMRC to advise of the P11D so the tax code can be adjusted straight away.

@Jon_Blower Hi Jon, thanks for getting in touch. Will the employer be sent in P11D about the benefit after each tax year for you? Martin

Excited to announce that CoverageJSON v1.0 has been adopted as an official OGC Community Standard. CoverageJSON enables the development of interactive visualizations that display and manipulate spatio-temporal data within a web browser. bit.ly/46hG3uq

Question for the @opengeospatial / @pygeoapi #geospatial crowd. Say I have a raster datacube (lat, lon, time) and I want to provide an API to sample discrete lat / lon / time points from this space. What is the right OGC API to use here?

Now it's official, I'm delighted to say in June I'll start a 5 year fellowship at @EngineeringNCL on 'Climate resilient, net-zero energy systems'. Unbelievably excited and still all a bit overwhelmed to be honest! 🥲🥳⛈️ Lots of thanks are due: (1/2)

How true. Similarly, the appendix of a PhD thesis is where the real blood, sweat and tears often live

Love the new 50p but it's a nice example of why map projections are hard! They've taken an animated transparent sphere (from BBC news credits) and made it flat. I think NZ & Fiji are on the back face of Earth beside Madagascar (red box). Can anyone work out what's in blue circle?

Today is my last official day at @env_analytics and @UniofReading, after over 19 years. Thanks to all my wonderful friends and colleagues - I've been very lucky to work with you all. I made sure to take some pics of the amazing @GardenHarris as souvenirs

@David_A_Ham @bnlawrence Yes, although beware weirdness in common third-party data structures, e.g.: [0] is Truthy numpy.array([0]) is Falsy [0] == numpy.array([0]) is not True but is Truthy

@bnlawrence It just reflects the duck-typing philosophy: value matters, type does not. On well-designed classes, == creates an equivalence class of values, which actually mirrors the maths concept of equality.

Well that's surprising: In Python 11==11.0 is returned as True (i.e you can compare objects of different types and they can evaluate as equal). I have to say that feels rather dirty.

@bnlawrence Yeah, and precision plays a role too of course: >>> 1==0.9999999999999999 False >>> 1==0.99999999999999999 True

@env_analytics I’d be interested in knowing which visualisation library you used for the flood demo (if you’re able to say). It’s looking great :-)
