@Aiims1742 In NYC you have to compete with IBM and others...$80-85K is almost charity for them...and if they come to your lab is because they really want to!

Just lost a bidding war for a computational biology postdoctoral fellow who got a $100k (!!) offer from St Jude’s - the maximum MDACC salary for “specialized” postdocs is $65k. I feel bad for the straight up cancer biology postdocs who have to make do with a $50-55K salary.
