So the two things were:
1. Generally useful. More people should do this: low-dose isotretinoin. It's what celebrities do, and it's 99% of the workhorse here.
2. Useful in my case. I had redness, seemingly from demodex, and ivermectin cream (+ the isotret) ended that.

Prosecutors charge murder in cases of clear cut self defense all the time which is why most gun owner pay for legal defense subscriptions up front. So carrying illegally is very high risk of being charged. Being charged and being innocent are separated by a massive legal cost and risk.

Self defense as long as he is carrying legally and was not the aggressor. Fear of great bodily harm is exactly what you feel as you are getting jumped by multiple people. You see flashes of people all round you and feel hits coming from all directions knowing very well you are likley to die or be permanently disabled. You try to cover as much as possible and create distance with swings and kicks but they are all around and you can't escape. You realize if they want to, they will stomp you to death any second so you are surviving at this point. Thankfully he had a weapon and survived the attack.

This is a garbage study.
They did the experiment a first time and the effect was obviously not real: 31.05 IQ points from just telling people a slight lie about how well they slept. In experiment 2, that dropped to 12 points.
And then it failed to replicate.

Just telling people they slept poorly led to impaired cognitive function. Telling them they slept fine preserved it.
