James Timpson OBE @JamesTCobbler has been appointed Minister of State (Minister for Prisons, Parole and Probation) in the Ministry of Justice @MoJGovUK.
Just noted something I kind of subconsciously knew already, but the figure is pretty surprising.
The people of Bristol South have elected only four different MPs since 1945 - that's 79 years.
@aarthurh29 Hey, good to hear from you. Thanks for your kind words. I'm secretary of Knowle Labour Party so you absolutely cannot count on my vote! Should be interesting though. I'm out on the doorsteps today so we'll see how that goes.
@JonnyWelly hey Jon! not sure if you remember meeting me at Cathedral all those years back (I quit the sixth form and moved to Redcliffe where I thrived, now at UoM) and just wanted to say it was really inspirational! Hope we have your vote tomorrow in Knowle ❤️🧡.
Album title and cover both suggest a Beatles who are feeling spent, and it shows in the music. But even with their foot half on the peddle they deliver some of their most important songs. Beatlemania is going up in a puff of smoke, but Help! is on the way.
🌟 Shadene Keeling and @JonnyWelly selected as Labour's candidates for Bedminster.
🌹 Councillor @mark_bradshaw is standing down in May 2024 following 18 years of service both to his ward and to the wider city.

It's 3 weeks until the opening game of the world cup.
So, what better way to start the countdown then by showing the greatest moment in the competition's history.....
Wallop.

#864: The Dreaming (1982) Often overlooked, this may be her definitive statement: each song an exquisitely crafted curio, whether it’s the whirligig of Suspended In Gaffa or the sublime All The Love. And *so* daring, able to turn on a sixpence to upend expectations. Gobsmacking.
Once you get past the circus & the shouting you’re left with the fact that the serving Home Secretary uses phrases like “Guardian reading, tofu eating wokerati”. Somebody who holds one of the highest positions of state & talks like Alex Jones.
Excited to hear that #lab21 CLPs have selected Early years for debate at conference. This is the @bristolwestlab@BristolSouthLab motion that we submitted. Childcare should be seen as an essential part of how our economy works.
That was a wonderful speech from the king. I think we’re very lucky. These are accidents of birth and he didn’t need to be intelligent, articulate, wise or kind, but he is.
Things that mean "no":
-Yeah, could do
-I'm easy really
-Well, yes and no
-We'll see
-Maybe
-If that's what you fancy
-I'll see how I feel
-Perhaps
-Let me check the diary
-Let’s play it by ear
-Certainly an option
-We’ll leave it open
-Hmm
-I’ll let you know
-Definitely
-Yep
@CLASSthinktank Absolutely bizarre decision. Why not mothball it for a bit, reduce resources maybe. Class has built a good reputation in a short time and their research is valuable in so many contexts.
