So, how long before Reddit tanks in Google and then AI search engines like chatgpt, perplexity and others based on the AI spam being posted there? -> AI Slop Is Ruining Reddit for Everyone “It’s probably more prevalent than anybody wants to really admit, because it’s just so easy to shove your post into ChatGPT and say ‘Hey, make this more exciting,’” says Cassie, who thinks as much as half of all content being posted to Reddit may have been created or reworked with AI in some way." “Reddit itself is either going to have to do something, or the snake is going to swallow its own tail,” she says. “It’s getting to the point where the AI is feeding the AI.” wired.com/story/ai-slop-…

When two Google engineers were told by the company that their AI chatbot prototype was unsafe for public release, they left to form Character AI, which launched in 2022. Two years later, parents are suing the company, alleging that harmful content on the platform led their kids to suicide. cbsn.ws/4rE4z4d

The bill discount and the rising price cap are two different levers. The 78% rate is a tax on North Sea production profits, not what British Gas charges per kWh, and it raises about £4.5bn a year. Even in a fantasy world where you scrapped the entire North Sea tax take and somehow injected every pound into bills, you’d only cut a typical £1,758 bill by under 10%; cutting 78% to 50% tops out at roughly a 3% reduction, and in practice it would be less, while the Treasury has to fill the lost revenue somewhere else. @grok fact check me.

@Ed_Miliband £150 off but the energy price cap (now there’s an oxymoron for you) is going up 🤡🤦🏻👍🏻 You still working out that 78% tax doesn’t affect energy prices 😂👍🏻🤡

@LBC A hotel room & a 1 bed flat aren’t comparable tho. For a like for like comparison, he should compare it to an en suite room in a HMO. Not to mention the hotel room probably doesn’t have cooking facilities which will make his food costs sky-high 😳🥡

The EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) rules for fingerprinting and photographing non-EU citizens were developed in 2016-2017, before Brexit was finalized in 2020. Brexit made UK citizens non-EU, so they now fall under these rules. The rules themselves aren't caused by Brexit; they're for all third-country nationals. Sources: EU Commission, BBC, GOV.UK.

Jeff Bezos explains the “releasing the work” framework he used to build Amazon In the early days of Amazon, Jeff Bezos had too many ideas. Then Jeff Wilke, a new Amazon executive at the time, told his boss, “Jeff, you have enough ideas to destroy Amazon.” “This was just a shocking idea for me,” Bezos recalls. “As a founder, I had the great luxury of always being able to hire my tutors. I would hire these experienced, senior executives . . . And I would listen to them and they would teach me.” When Bezos asked Wilke what he meant by this, Wilke responded, “You have to release the work at the right rate so that the organization can accept it.” Bezos reflects on this point: “Every time I released an idea, I was creating a backlog of work in process. And because it was just stacking up, it was adding no value. In fact, it was creating distraction . . . This sounds so obvious, but it was not obvious to me at the time. And this was a profound insight for me. So I started prioritizing the ideas better, keeping lists of them, and keeping ideas to myself until the organization was ready for the ideas.” He continues: “I also started figuring out how to build an organization that can be ready for more ideas. That’s about having the right senior team and leadership and giving those people the executive bandwidth so they could do more ideas per unit of time. And that is what we built. We built a company that’s very good at inventing and doing more than one thing at a time. And as the company gets bigger, you do want to be able to do more than one thing at a time. But that idea of ‘releasing the work’ was very profound for me. It made us operationally more effective while still being inventive.” Video source: @Reuters (2025)

That's it? :) And yep, the scraping and crawling costs are insane -> Google sends 831x more visitors than AI systems: Report "Google sends publishers 831x more visitors than AI systems, according to TollBit’s State of the Bots Q2 2025 report. Even though AI referrals barely register next to Google’s, bots are hammering publisher sites — pushing costs higher, scraping more content, and often ignoring rules meant to limit them." searchengineland.com/google-more-vi…

No country in the world? Estonia — ID card is mandatory for residents and is the core of a fully digital identity system used for signing, voting, healthcare, and tax; the card carries certificates on a chip. Belgium — The eID is a compulsory national card with a chip used across public and private services; rollout began in 2003 and is universal today. Spain & Portugal — Their mandatory national cards (DNIe in Spain, Cartão de Cidadão in Portugal) are electronic and recognized under the EU’s eIDAS framework for cross-border e-ID. Singapore — the NRIC is compulsory by statute (registration and holding obligations) and Singapore provides a Digital IC / Singpass layer that functions as the nation’s primary digital identity.
