People rage about immigration, but ask how many children they have and it’s very rarely more than three. I know plenty of older people with no grandchildren at all. What do people think happens next?

The European share of NZ’s population is declining. That’s what happens when your fertility rate sits around 1.4 for years. Migrants come from populations that are growing, not shrinking, so the demographic shift is predictable. No conspiracy required.

@JonoMacNZ I appreciate the response, but it's all so confusing. It makes me worry and think of 2nd Corinthians 11:3 where we're reminded that we only need a simple gospel.

I tried understanding Calvinism by asking a lot of questions here & I'm still at a loss. I have no idea what Calvinism is actually supposed to be, why it's important or why I'm supposed to be one. I thank the OP for answering my Q's but I don't get it. Help is welcomed (thread)⬇️

People hate Calvinism (Double Predestination) for what they think it is. Not what it actually is. For how many people vehemently hate it, they really don't understand what it is.

Writing is going to be a superpower soon. Not literary mastery, not being Shakespeare or Wordsworth or Lewis. I mean being able to express yourself spontaneously & coherently in paragraphs (or speech!) without an automated Wormtongue in your ear telling you what to think and say.

The state of the Catholic Church in Germany is slowly killing my faith. Idk how I’m supposed to survive this.
Also, I started to doubt the Magisterium on multiple issues, including some core teachings of Catholicism.

Just got back from the ANZAC day ceremony in Rongotea, and it’s interesting how the proceedings remain soaked in Anglicanism. Not a complaint, New Zealand is a Protestant country by formation and it would be weirdly out of context for it to be anything else. But even as Anglicanism withers away as a lived religion and very few people can actually sing the hymns, it’s still something people naturally gravitate to as they try to grasp for some sense of sacredness on the one public holiday where its fashionable to admit of it. It’s just part of our shared national life as a set of ambient assumptions that retains this vestigial cultural pulling power.
