Today Russians attacked near Lyman. With the help of drones, Ukrainian infantry brigades destroyed 2 tanks, 5 APCs (BTR-82AT and BTR-70M), 5 BMP-3, 2 BMP-2, and more than 40 ATVs(!). A decent number of IFVs were stopped with the help of remotely placed mines. Massacre. We knew that they were planning to attack. Everyone was prepared. Two days ago, at Porkovsk direction, the 6th tank regiment attacked and lost 3 BMP-2, 1 tank, and approximately 10 ATVs. A lot of other equipment and personnel were lost near other villages at Pokrovsk direction. Spring exacerbation?

@Volke__ Afaik 810th and 177th Naval units operate T-90M. Maybe others in the future.

2026 Military Balance reports that Russian Army has a fleet of 620 T-90M tanks with additional 30 operated by Naval Infantry, for a total of 650 T-90M tanks in service. Last year i reported on MB 2025, then the total fleet size was put at 400 tanks, 250 less! Considerable growth.

@NotWoofers Although don't expect to see many T-90 or MRAPs even with regular sightings of deliveries and use in the rear.

A lot of these vehicles the Russians will be using are going on one-way trips. So expect them to be using trash and things that are in high production. I personally suspect things will be quite BTR-82A heavy. But if they can get people to the position, it will be worth it for them.

Past days I have talked with several people and the conclusion is that @Jonpy99 is correct and the Russians will resume using armor, which we’re starting to see already. Expect a return to platoon-sized attacks using 1-3 armored vehicles to try and overwhelm Ukrainian positions.
