I was talking about harmful behaviourist approaches in education in a wellbeing meeting today. 3 of us are wellbeing specialists and we’re developing a new subject for future teachers. Neurological approaches and trauma-informed practices are going to be central to the content 💪

Hello, is anybody there? Is there still any PE conversation on 'twitter' these days or has everybody moved on? This was such a hub of activity and discourse that really dived deep into all things PE back in the day. Who is still about?

@HarrySmithPE @ThePEUmbrella Time allowance has reduced for courses due to ITaPs. Some offer only 3 hrs of PE. Even our pri PE PG Spm lost hrs from 86 to 60! Hear from many that they didn’t get to teach PE due to outside agencies covering lessons. This still goes on. Some ECTs have not taught PE yet.

@ThePEUmbrella How do you think things have changed in the last 10 years when it comes to the further education side and training student teachers?

So if we think about Primary PE in the UK 10 years ago, what has changed for the better? I'm not talking about 'specifically in your school's' but across the board? Are things better or different in any way? Have we moved forward?

Well that was a big win this week 🥳💃 Uzbekistan curriculum authorities have officially approved my rationale to *only* have programme learning outcomes in their new #teachered programme. This helps to streamline and focus the entire curriculum 💪📖❤️ Less is more! #EdReform

The vast majority of our “worst offenders” (to coin a phrase) in schools are managing a great deal in their lives. Their behaviour derives from this. In my experience there are always valid reasons: alcoholic parent, neglect, abuse, etc

@MegaeraR @MshaynesPE I agree. Being blasted by ‘science’ for the whole session is too much for me. Defo need time to ‘chat’, some ‘doing’, a little ‘creativity’, a load of ‘relevance’ and also the ‘science’ behind whatever is being shared.

@MshaynesPE A8 I personally like a combination of discussion, activity, and reflection. So many times I find myself in "go-go-go" sessions with little time to process, or in "sit n git" sessions when my brain shuts down. Finding the perfect balance is crucial.#iahperdchat
