DNegs used to be someone I looked up to more than maybe anyone in poker once upon a time, but I haven't read a single thing from him since he insinuated on a vlog that I was disingenuous about values that are more important to me than virtually anything (knowingly, I think, twisting a conversation we had had) - values that I have repeatedly, and knowingly paid a high and tangible price for, and continue to pay for. But I agree with him on this. I am aware of the options I have available to me, and which ones are likely the best use of my time (both financially and for happiness). While I enjoy streams, their offer wasn't a better use of time than other things available. Likewise they obviously don't think they can recoup the value of what it would cost to bring me in. Ain't nobody butthurt about that, it's all good. But this didn't start as something about me - people were complaining pros go on and just play like robots and I gave a personal account as to why there's little incentive to take a higher variance route for the sake of viewers' entertainment unless you're actively trying to build a following or obtain a sponsorship. Somehow this has turned into a bunch of randoms crapping on me and telling me I ain't shit. I'm not perfect but I try my best to be kind and compassionate, fun, share joy with people and to create positive change when I feel like I can. After turning my life around from a place of anger and resentment I am really proud of not giving into a path of misery and hate it - could have so easily gone the other way. I am proud of who I am, and more importantly I think the childhood version of myself would be proud, too. This is the happiest I've been in my entire life by a large margin, and I have experienced more success in so many facets of life than I ever expected. I am thankful for everything in my life and every fucking second I get to be here, you have no idea. So shit on me all you want if it makes you feel better, if it makes you hurt less or relieves some bitterness - sincerely, if it helps you, go ahead. Even if it's just for participating in a public discussion with my own experience. I'm so overwhelmingly grateful for the position I'm in, and no amount of angry little anonymous accounts online could ever put a dent in that.
