@CoachRios151 And it’s hurting no one. Act like Deion Sanders didn’t do this. Act like Griffey didn’t wear his hat backwards. MJ didn’t change the way athletes get shoe deals. This isn’t new. People always want to crush “kids these days” but this has been happening forever. Let em be happy.

Justin Verlander stealing an All-Star spot from someone like Sonny Gray is embarrassing for Major League Baseball. “Legend” clause or not, he shouldn’t have taken a spot away from a player that was more deserving.

@DanSavage_live Very few teams in the history of baseball have played .724 ball for a 69 game stretch. It’s insanely hard to do. Especially for a team that’s 7 games under at the all star break. I also dont think they even need to go 50-19 to make the playoffs.

@JordanStrack Cleveland went 42-25 after the break last year with a far worse team than this constructed Tigers team and made up 15.5 games. Detroit can do that, and you can define who wins or doesnt the division what their record will be if its Chicago or Cleveland.

You have 2 choices right now. Trade Tarik Skubal -OR- Go for it & you need multiple pieces to make this a contending team. I don’t see any possible way you keep him. It would be crazy to set this franchise back when he walks. This team just isn’t winning a WS.

The Detroit Tigers finish the day 5.5 GB in the AL Central and 4.5 GB of a playoff spot. Don’t trade Skubal. The division is extremely winnable. The AL is weak. Go for it.

I’m also the guy who always says…if you have a shot…go for it because you never know when you’ll get back. I’d love to see them make a run. That’s the gamble you take. It’s a calculated risk. I err on the side of - this team can’t win a title. So add pieces & go next year.

It’s remarkable to me that there is so much vitriol because I literally laid out the 2 options the Tigers have lol. If the Tigers keep Skubal…they HAVE to spend & go for it. That means trading the few assets you have. I’m not opposed. I am just laying out the case.
