These teen mob takeovers are dangerous for everyone involved. Dangerous for the perpetrators, the public, and innocent bystanders. These mob actions hurt tourism. They add costs: CPD overtime, added protection, litigation, costs of damage to property from mass chaos and damage to our city's reputation.  Worse yet, these "kids" have already hurt people, they've killed people and IT HAS TO STOP. No more excuses. All of our kids are welcome to enjoy the many gems of our city. We want them to. But they should be on their best behavior, not their worst. When people are dancing on cars, they're thumbing their noses at the law. When they're dancing on cop cars or plowing through our police, the city has gone up for grabs. We must take it back. How do we deter this behavior? Through strong enforcement and accountability. Laws are so relaxed, people feel they don't have to follow the law. We need to enforce current laws, pass strengthened laws, institute curfews, and hold parents of the worst offenders accountable as well. And we need to stop excusing or diminishing the seriousness of this unlawful behavior.

Manny’s Deli had its windows smashed tonight. Thank God the staff is safe. But let’s be clear: Jewish businesses should not have to wonder whether they are next. Not in Chicago. Not in America. We are grateful to law enforcement for responding, and we stand with Manny’s, its staff, and every Jewish business owner who deserves to work, serve, and live without fear. An attack on a Jewish institution is an attack on the whole community.

@jacobkornbluh Pro-boycott members (and outsider supporters) probably don't know or care, but the coop, and those that aided and abetted the coop, just bought themselves a world of legal trouble under various provisions of the the NYC Human Rights Law and other civil rights laws. @alykatzz

I voted PB, but I would prefer Josh Shapiro or Rham Emanuel. The only way the Democratic Party can defy MAGA is by winning elections. The only way the Democratic Party can win elections is by winning back independents. The majority of independents, like me, won’t be won back with radical ideologies promoted by candidates like AOC. Extreme or radical ≠ strong or better. Democrats need strong candidates that espouse commonsense. Common sense, moderation, and civility ≠ weak. So long as Democrats equate strong with radical and weak with moderate, they will continue to ensure a bright MAGA future. #Hyperpartisanship
