Am I retarded or is it not possible to create another account from an existing account on @cloudflare? I'm trying to separate Primcloud from NiftyCo stuff but the docs point to menu items that don't exit.

@nateberkopec How do you handle multi region deployments? Regional read replicas with primary for writes?

DB in a different region than compute. Fixed! Second time I've seen this in my career. The clue: if DB query latency is a _minimum_ of 5+ms, even for `SELECT 1`, your database is in the wrong region.

@joshmanders If needed, with this setup, we can swap from Digitalocean to another hosting provider in less than an hour. Hopefully we never need to, but it is an option.

@joshmanders Yeah, it uses the next image path. In theory I could configure it to use Cloudflare's image conversion API, but it's easier to just run the conversion ourselves and have CF cache the result. Some more info: nextjs.org/docs/app/getti…

@joshmanders Yeah, we run Next in Docker containers and next/image optimizations are handled normally (I think it uses Sharp by default). Cloudflare caches the output images, which is handy.

out of my depth talking on it but anyone sorta picked up on that website design that all the right wing tech bros use? whats the origin/influence? like dark mode, rounded corners, lots of clutter, hacker vibe but minimal, got some sorta polymarket involvement

a team at @cloudflare just moved an internal nextjs app that used to run in k8s to cloudflare workers + workers vpc for the bits that need to connect to core services this happened in a few hours! few big takeaways: 1. this is the year of migration & rewrites. it's happening! 2. if you don't know where to start with cloudflare workers because you still have things running in cloud / on prem, workers vpc is a good place to get started! 3. if you tried workers a long time ago, now is a good time to try it again. it has gotten so much richer with support for node js, higher limits, ability to connect to internal services, new products like queues, workflows, pipelines, etc

Interestingly, the @tesla shop listing to purchase a Tesla Gift Card description has changed from "Supercharging" to "Supercharging Tesla vehicles". The support page does not have this distinction (tesla.com/support/shop/p…) They've also updated to not allow them to be used for vehicle purchases - previously this was a workaround to be able to use a CC to get points on a delivery payment. Pics - gift card listing March 2025, listing today Terms from March 2025 and today

Really wish @Tesla would allow Tesla Credits to be used for non-Tesla charging Shouldn't matter if they're used to pay for charging for a Tesla or a non-Tesla.

On large Next.js applications, especially with a large amount of pages / route handlers every request is now 500-700ms faster in development. Measured on our largest Next.js application. The improvement scales with the size of your `app` and `pages` folder. The larger your application, the bigger the improvement. So it also improves smaller applications, but at a smaller absolute number. Applies to all applications in development, regardless of if you're using Turbopack or webpack. Available on next@canary. Coming to stable soon too!
