Thank you @POTUS for designating Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, and asking me to lead the investigation into this horrific persecution in Congress. The United States will never turn a blind eye to the suffering of our Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria across the world.

Nigeria is a sovereign country, but bandits and terrorists are invading communities and collecting ransoms as a precondition for not attacking them. A sovereign country that still imports toothpicks. Buhari ruled over this same sovereign state for eight years and could not build a single hospital that could treat him. Buhari died in a foreign hospital. Tinubu has spent over two years governing this sovereign country and is constantly seeking medical care in a foreign country. You think sovereignty is just territorial? We don’t even have territorial sovereignty given the way terrorists are easily invading our country from the Sahel region. Stop the fake patriotism and face the leadership failure that has brought us to where we are today.

@AyshaHamman Muslims kill Muslims, Muslims keep quiet. Muslims kill Christians, Christians cry for help, Christians get help, Muslims are upset. If you're ok dying in silence because you're being killed by people of your faith, that's on you. Don't tell me how to react when I'm hurt.

Nobody is denying that Nigerians are being killed. What I’m saying is that framing it solely as a “Christian genocide” is dismissive of the countless other victims, including Muslims, traditionalists, and others, who have also suffered and died in these same attacks. The agenda lies in the framing, and I’m explaining this because you’re a lawyer, and as a lawyer, you’re learned enough to understand context. Nigerians have been killed across all faiths and ethnicities. The danger is in allowing the West to tell our story in a way that gives them moral cover to “save” us through intervention. If you can’t see the bigger picture and the pattern, I can’t help you see it. In retrospect, this should be a wake-up call for our leaders to halt this madness; otherwise, e go do us like film.
