🕊️ Remembering Ian Richard Olson. After battling lymphoma for 10 long years, Ian finally received the news he had fought his entire childhood to hear — he was cancer free. He was only 18 years old and had his whole life ahead of him. Just one week later, on December 21, 2018, Ian was shot in the back of the head during a robbery in Portland. His killer, Jeremiah Hannon, was 15 years old and reportedly admitted he did it simply because he “felt like it.” Ian dreamed of the life so many take for granted — getting married, having a family, building a future. That future was stolen from him forever. Now, the person who murdered him is scheduled to walk free before turning 25. At some point, society has to stop pretending someone is “too young to understand” when they are fully capable of pulling a trigger and taking an innocent life. Never forget Ian Olson. 🙏

Katie’s killer was unlawfully in America with a checkered history and serious issues. The policy failures were real. The warnings were real. Open-border and sanctuary city/state policies with clearly no guardrails created the conditions that led to Katie’s death and the victimization of countless others, particularly in Illinois under @GovPritzker watch. Katie’s death was not fate, random chance, or merely an unfortunate “incident.” It was the result of systemic failures at every level of government. And when people ask why immigration status matters, the answer is simple: because unlawful presence, repeated failures of enforcement, and policies designed to ignore or shield those violations were part of the chain of preventable events that led to Katie’s death. But if someone’s only response to those facts is to scream “racist” or “bigot,” they are not seeking truth or engaging in honest debate. They are weaponizing moral intimidation to silence dissent, protect failed policies, and attack anyone willing to expose the catastrophic failures, preventable deaths, and human suffering created by ideological immigration policies. To be clear, people have every right to yell “racist” or “bigot.” But the rest of us have every right to reject manipulative moral intimidation designed to shut down debate and shield failed policies from scrutiny. And anyone claiming immigration was handled responsibly between 2021–2025 ignored the chaos, the avoidable deaths, the exploitation, and the suffering inflicted on both American citizens and migrants alike. That is not compassion. That is political loyalty masquerading as morality. And neither blind ideology nor party loyalty should ever matter more than truth, public safety, and human life.
