I'm crying! I have just submitted my second anthology submission! Now, I wait to see if it's worthy of being included (I have hopes it will, but as my own worst critic, I fear it's too horrible to be added)! ❤️

I completely understand how hard it can be to find reliable beta readers, especially for free. If you ever do want another set of eyes on your work, I’d be happy to help and give you honest feedback 😊

@datcheesycake @buckdownbad It’s really hard to find a good beta reader. Especially for free. Best practice is to let the manuscript rest for 3 or 4 weeks then go back and edit yourself. But also learn how to edit! Which is also hard AF. I’m 44, it took me years

“don’t post it publicly if you don’t want criticism” some of you would really rather not have fics than simply be nice to people

@FloraAnneFauna_ On AO3 there isn’t an official beta reader system like FF, but most people find beta readers through Tumblr, Discord writing servers, or by posting requests in fandom tags. If you want, I’d be happy to take a look and give you detailed feedback! Feel free to DM me.

So real question how does one either obtain or become a beta on AO3? On FF there was a way to sign up for a beta list that people can choose from I really want a beta reader to give me feedback but I don’t have the oomfs for it

@HAHNCINEMA I totally get that! Being a beta reader is so rewarding, you get to dive into someone else’s story while honing your own skills at the same time.

I have to say, I love being a beta reader almost as much as I love writing my own words

i wanna start thumbnailing my comic so BAD but the script needs beta reading first.... my EVIL beta reader just has to be one the other side of the planet. shaking my head.

@69ofCrows Beta readers are amazing! If you ever get one you are in for a treat. I reread every sentence so much that I barely get any progress ;; I wish I had a beta reader, my old buddy and I ended up in different fandoms and circles 😣
