@fkttkm Do people eat it in Japan? They are quite common around this time in my hometown in southern China, and we cook it often with pork. I miss the taste a lot since I moved to Europe. I found it once in Poland when I was doing field work in a nature reserve, and I cooked it :)

There are worms that live in the sub-freezing waters of the Ross Sea, next to Antarctica. These worms can withstand the cold temperature, it seems, because the bacteria in their guts make cryo-protective proteins that reduce the freezing point of internal liquids.
