@earnshawjm One of my primary hoses came of here. we didn't notice it for 2 laps. Really should have just gone back over everything that day. Spreading barley, then some leftover dap. Then harrowing it

@AngusJosie training has become an industry. Its not quite a rort but it ties up so much time in box ticking and process. The market has shown it doesn't care.

Just finished my Livestock Liason Officer training, that we needed to do to continue to operate. A great example of the bullshit continuing to be shovelled at us by our industry bodies. 150 acronyms in 4 hrs that supposedly makes you prepared for exotic animal disease incursion. Let's start with the internal bureacratic bullshit, it's pretty hard to call the Govt out when we keep inventing this stuff for ourselves.

@CasFarmerCD @gsandral @RachelVCott Most of us will only run our business for 20-25 years. So if we only try 1 or 2 things each year we only try 50 ideas in our lifetime. The keys in my experience small scale pilot fits existing system easy to extract from suits your interest Have tried lots and kept few.

@gsandral @RachelVCott Yep, it's just time and money. We like to play with new things, but i don't think they often stick. I've had some SWRT membrane the crew over there sent to me to try, I just haven't been able to put it in. All I need is some more time and money 😅. It should work wonders here

The Elderly Former Farmer thought to himself "27degs today, why not grab the Missus(That's Mrs Carmody to you! ) and the hound and go have a look at John's crop? Canola always looks best in the heat. " so that he duly did. His photos are in alphabetical order. B,C,W

I have been using the AI on my phone to get wool market results, valuations and estimates. Its actually quite cool. Massive thanks to @DysonJones_WA and @howiemerino for doing the hard work.

@ProfRayWills @TyTekAg @Mistadamage Thanks for the link ill have a better read. Our cropping uses roughly 10l/ha at planting/spraying/field prep. Not sure what everyone else's numbers are

@Jusakstud @TyTekAg @Mistadamage Here's some better numbers from a human - tho' numbers on this stuff via AI useful, but tend to be polluted by old numbers which raise cost estimates of both solar and batteries x.com/ProfRayWills/s… Wind a useful strap on for more cloudy day regions

@TyTekAg @ProfRayWills @Mistadamage The wind solar and a battery make much more sense to me. Need to see someone else ground truth it all first. Estimated cost from the AI 3.6- 7 million.

@Jusakstud @ProfRayWills @Mistadamage Battery warranty is 10-12 years, solar panel warranty is 25 years, does your new harvester stop working after it's 12 month/1000hr warranty? 2ha of panels is not bad, how much salt or unarable rocky ground do you have? Maybe put a windmill in there while you are at it?

@ProfRayWills @TyTekAg @Mistadamage We use roughly 2200l of diesel per day at seeding, more at harvest. According to the AI that would require 1-2 ha of panels. Plus the battery storage. Life cycle of panels is 15-20 years batteries 10. Unless we get swarm farming the numbers wont work.
