La Regla 12 exige, para sancionar con libre directo o penal, una ofensa física que encaje materialmente en las conductas descritas (empujar, cargar, golpear, etc.) y que el árbitro valore como al menos “careless” (negligente) frente a la integridad de otro jugador. Un contacto puntual, leve y funcional dentro de la dinámica defensiva, sin riesgo real ni ánimo de agredir o disputar el balón con el propio compañero, puede considerarse atípico: no alcanza el umbral mínimo de “physical offence” que justifica un libre directo. La propia Regla 12 distingue los supuestos de libre indirecto por conducta antideportiva cuando el jugador utiliza ayuda física (compañero, poste, estructura) para ganar altura o ventaja directa sobre el balón; ahí lo relevante es el beneficio ilícito en el juego, no el daño a una persona. En el caso Joan García, no hay impulso sobre el compañero para jugar la pelota ni uso de su cuerpo como apoyo para intervenir en el balón, sino un simple contacto de empujón que no modifica directamente la jugada; por tanto, ni encaja en la tipicidad de la ayuda antirreglamentaria (indirecto) ni alcanza el umbral de agresión física (directo). Desde una lectura sistemática de la Regla 12 y de la Circular 6/2016, solo deben considerarse “physical offences” contra un compañero aquellas acciones con verdadera entidad lesiva o claramente antideportiva; en ausencia de esa intensidad, el tipo reglamentario no se completa. En la acción del derbi, el contacto de Joan García con su compañero puede calificarse como un contacto funcional, de baja intensidad y sin finalidad agresiva ni de manipulación directa de la jugada, de modo que, jurídicamente, cabe sostener que no hay infracción sancionable con libre directo ni penal. En la jugada descrita, el portero se encuentra súbitamente a su compañero delante y lo desplaza mínimamente para poder reaccionar ante una acción de ataque, en un contexto puramente defensivo y sin finalidad lesiva, lo que permite calificar el contacto como accidental y funcional, no como una ofensa física típica. En las guías clásicas de IFAB se recuerda que las Reglas están pensadas “para que el juego se dispute con la mínima interferencia posible” y que el árbitro debe sancionar solo las infracciones deliberadas, evitando pitar contactos “trifling and doubtful” que arruinan el juego. La propia estructura de la Regla 12 distingue las faltas de contacto (DFK) de las conductas antideportivas de libre indirecto vinculadas al “beneficio” ilícito, como utilizar un compañero o el poste para ganar altura y jugar el balón. En la acción del derbi, Joan no usa al compañero como apoyo para intervenir sobre la pelota ni genera un perjuicio competitivo ilegítimo para el adversario; el ligero desplazamiento es la consecuencia inevitable de intentar ver y reaccionar ante la jugada, lo que refuerza la idea de que no se consuma un tipo específico de infracción. Calificar como falta de tiro directo/penal cualquier empujón funcional entre compañeros en acciones fortuitas dentro del área desnaturalizaría ese espíritu, abriría la puerta a decisiones arbitrales desproporcionadas y erosionaría la seguridad jurídica de jugadores y técnicos, lo que justifica una interpretación restrictiva por la que la acción de Joan García no se considera infracción.
