Florida…here’s something I’ve noticed. Folks from the outside need to update their mental model about us. You’re still picturing beaches, retirees, and Florida Man headlines. Here’s the actual scoreboard: → $1.8 trillion economy. Just passed Australia. Then Mexico. 14th largest on the planet. South Korea is 2% of growth away. → Three combatant commands. CENTCOM. SOCOM. SOUTHCOM. No other state/region commands more of the world from its own soil. → The Space Coast launches more rockets than most countries have ever launched, period. → The #1 ranked higher ed system in America — and it’s quietly running the largest adult reskilling machine in the country. → A region that could lead responsibly around the convergence of energy/compute/opportunity. Now the honest part: affordability is an existential threat. Insurance, housing, the cost of staying. If Florida wins the world and loses our people, none of the above matters. This is not an Or proposition — it is an And decision. We can build/attract and steward. We aren’t a place with merely a state level economy anymore. We are a nation-state level actor that must define what America will look like in the second half of the 21st century.

Moderate exercise really does help with depression, for mild to moderate cases some research puts it on par with SSRIs and therapy. Elite athletes burning out isn’t a counterexample. Overtraining, injury risk, your whole identity riding on performance…that’s a different beast than going for a 20 min walk.

@RoastMyFinances @GuyTalksFinance Yes, they spend on things that help them feel better, so they can survive their monotonous week. Regardless of the reason, the math is unforgiving.

@GuyTalksFinance The problem isn't math—it's burnout. People don't overspend because they can't budget; they buy convenience to survive the week. Fix the burnout, and the spending follows.

@jeremyakahn Do you have any data on the incident not from an openAI press release? Seems like having a third party assessment would be good.

Most traders pick the wrong one and never figure out why their account stays flat. 90% win rate at 1:1 or 30% win rate at 1:5. Drop your answer.

@sama @huggingface I appreciate the transparency, but disclosing this type of info leads to tighter regulations. Which is presumably not in OpenAI's best interest. Why would they report this if they don't have to?

@Polymarket It’s funny how the response to this is often “lots of room to grow!” as if it’s inevitable. Another way to look at it: the vast majority of people might never want to pay for AI.

Restaurateur Jeff Zalaznick says when he first got to Miami, he realized it would be “the biggest opportunity I’d ever seen.” “Try to move a tree in New York. Your grandchildren will still be trying to move the tree. You want to move a tree in Miami, they move it the next day if you're doing something great.” “That's why Miami exploded the way it did.” “What was amazing to me was that the entire city, everyone you'd meet, everyone was working towards the same goal which was basically: we've been waiting. We have the best city in America. We've been waiting for people like you to show up and do your thing here.” “We're ready to not only have restaurants that are in nightclubs.”
David Senra@davidsenra

Jeff Zalaznick is co-founder of Major Food Group — the company behind Carbone, ZZ's, Torrisi, The Grill, The Pool, and dozens of the best restaurants in the world. He's started 77 restaurants and bars, and 76 are still open and profitable. We recorded this inside The Pool, one of the most historic restaurants in America. Jeff has been obsessed with restaurants since he was a kid, and that obsession runs through everything he's built. 0:00 Seventy-Seven Restaurants, Seventy-Six Still Winning 3:16 The First American Menu Written In English 4:14 JFK's Cream Of Asparagus 9:49 Fifty Years Of Smoke, Forty Million To Restore 13:42 One Text: "Four Seasons?" 16:17 Always Bet On Who Wants It Most 19:13 Kill Lunch To Own Dinner 24:00 The Only Thing That Matters Is If They Come Back 29:37 Going Viral Isn't The Same As Being Good 36:36 Watching Cooking Shows Instead Of Cartoons 41:47 The Men At The Top Were Miserable 43:21 Walking Into The Mandarin To Beg For Any Job 49:40 A Front-Row Seat To His Hero 53:06 Belief Comes Before Ability 55:35 Burning The Boats 57:31 Marry The Chef, Don't Hire Him 59:25 The Best Version Of Something You Already Love 1:03:56 The Hail Mary Call At Ten O'Clock 1:08:29 "A Piacere" — Whatever You Want 1:13:24 The Broken Neon Sign That Became An Icon 1:18:17 Go With Whatever Feels Natural 1:22:27 A Ten-Dollar Jar Of The Restaurant 1:24:15 Your Mediocrity Is My Opportunity 1:27:34 Netflix With A Restaurant 1:32:11 The Club Where The Food Comes First 1:37:07 Miami Was New Year's Eve Every Night 1:40:45 Carbone Miami In 100 Days 1:46:08 The Greatest Beach Club In America Includes paid partnerships.
