@Jacksonsrule Becoming that wealthy requires the kind of sociopathy and ties to human-crushing practices that make the first step on undoing Human suffering to be undoing the thing that makes you rich (and also becoming a different person who wouldn't have done this in the first place)

Bc the game is called God of War, not Goddess of War. And there are plenty of games with female protagonists we love and care about them and if they change them we would be mad,The difference is that this title was built around one character whose story we’ve followed for years. So yeah, making him no longer the playable character is obviously going to upset people. Crazy concept, I know.

@IFuckClankers @Bulagan1996 @sunnyright You: "What if it was so much better than it currently is!?" It isn't though - cope. A pointlessly human shaped robot is losing, while cheating, to a human with no experience, in a role that will never be economical to replace a human in, whether we're talking USA or China.

And yet for tens of millions of people worldwide, they still spend eight hours a day doing something that we haven't created a purpose built robot to handle yet. Do we wanna create millions, possibly tens of millions, of specialized, single purpose robots, to do every last little fucking factory job, or do we want to create a robust platform that can adapt to any task a human can? The fact we didn't have machines that could do this at all until the 90s tells you this is not trivial. We had fully automated fast food restaurants in the 50s. This is arguably substantially harder. I am more impressed at a robot which can pick up and flip arbitrary male items than I am one which can run an entire restaurant by itself. You are missing the forest for the trees if you think the purpose of this robot is flipping male, that's just something mildly useful it can do, pretty much forever, supplied with an infinite stream of training data, because they will always be more bullshit out of distribution packages for it to flip. And again, you're assuming no speed improvements? Why not use this as a benchmark? One robot that can flip burgers, fold your laundry, do your dishes, and sort mail. If this is functioning at 0.2% the speed of a contemporary USPS sorter, cool, that's a benchmark. What happens when it gets 10 times faster? 50 times faster? What happens when the endlessly adaptable generic platform can do the job faster than the dedicated machine, because engineering on the dedicated machine has a 18 month cycle time, and the updates are all in hardware? I'm not sure if you've ever worked a factory, but if you have, on low volume stuff, with a bunch of different processes, you would understand that there are tons of things that it is not worth building a dedicated machine for, then a generic machine would do fantastically, even if slower than the hypothetical dedicated machine which will never get built

Analysis of Green Party leaflets since ex-Libdem Polanski became leader showed across 40+ pages & 10k words: 🤔 1 mention of ‘climate change’. 🤔 1 mention of ‘nature’. 🤔 0 mentions of ‘net zero’. Stop telling me this guy is an environmentalist and a socialist. He isn’t.
Jon Burke 🌍@jonburkeUK

So, the same Zack Polanski who falsely claimed hypnosis increases breast size, falsely claimed he was a Red Cross ‘spokesperson’, & failed to pay council tax has now admitted he didn’t vote despite claiming otherwise? If you’re still defending this guy, give your head a wobble.

OK, can we just clear this up. Green voters are not “hypocrites”. They don’t want migrant detention centres anywhere. Reform voters are the “hypocrites”. They do want migrant centres. Just not where they live.

I may not agree with Green voters, but deliberately placing deportation centres in areas that vote against you as political punishment is vindictive and counterproductive. You don’t win people over by threatening them. It’ll also put people in serious danger.
Nigel Farage@Nigel_Farage

If you vote Reform you will not have an illegal migrant deportation facility in your area. We will hold migrants awaiting deportation in constituencies that vote Green instead. You get what you vote for.

Congress hasn't formally declared war since 1942. So by your logic, every single military action since then has been an "illegal order", including the ones ordered by Obama and Biden.
JerryRigEverything@ZacksJerryRig

It is illegal to obey illegal orders. It is illegal to obey illegal orders. It is illegal to obey illegal orders. It is illegal to obey illegal orders. It is illegal to obey illegal orders. It is illegal to obey illegal orders. Congress has not declared War. Pass it on.

The way the United States was designed is that one person—even the president—cannot change its fundamentals. Yes, a president can tweak trade deals or some foreign policies, but the fundamentals are untouchable. And there is no way he could invade an ally like Canada or Greenland, even if he really wanted to. If you’re not smart enough to understand this, then we have never been friends. Yes, President Trump made some comments that we may agree—or disagree—with. I agree that if the U.S. and Canada could become one big nation—not one being a state of the other, or one owning the other—a united North America could be unbeatable. But I do not agree with how Trump phrased or imagined it.

I noticed one employee wearing noise-canceling headphones. Not earbuds. The big, cushioned over-ear kind that create a tiny personal universe. I asked if everything was alright. He said yes, he’s just trying to focus. I told him we value focus, but isolation can misread as resistance to collaboration. He said he’s literally sitting at his desk doing his job. I told him we track human presence, not just output. He asked how presence is measured. I said imperfectly, which is why it's so important. Then I logged “avoiding spontaneous culture building opportunities” in his engagement profile.

@benonwine Normally, I see cyclists get beaned through no fault of their own. In this case, though, the cyclist is at fault. In the oncoming lane, instead of behind the brown car, waiting his turn to go left on the road. Sorry, pal. You should not be in a blind spot in the wrong lane.
