If excellence simply means “the best production value,” then why does God say He looks at the heart and not outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7)? Was Cain’s problem that he didn’t offer enough, or that his heart was wrong (Genesis 4; Hebrews 11:4)? Is matching the secular world’s idea of “excellence” really the same as giving God our best according to His Word?

@JustW0W1 @convictedcowboy @Apostolicunfl You sound ridiculous! Its called excellence. Excellence is when you give your best. God deserves the best production value that we can do. How dare you allow the secular world recognize value and excellence but give God the bare minimum. U have a Cain spirit. Offer God the best.

We clearly see this differently. You believe singing psalms includes the full Old Testament temple style with instruments and concert energy. I believe the New Testament gives us a different pattern: worship in spirit and truth, with melody in the heart, apostolic simplicity, and reverence, not performance. We’re not going to agree here. I’ll leave it at that. May the Lord guide us both into His truth.

@JustW0W1 @Apostolicunfl Brother I’m doing what the Bible says lol. The scripture you’re providing is doing what the Bible says…sing psalms…first in that order you’re mentioning lol

Just because the Bible doesn’t say “concert style is wrong” word-for-word doesn’t make it right. We are to follow the apostolic pattern given in the New Testament, not assume everything from the Old Covenant temple worship carries over. You’re reading more into “sing psalms” than the New Testament actually supports. We all should uphold apostolic simplicity, not defend modern spectacles by twisting “sing psalms.”

We live under the New Testament law, I agree. We aren’t bound by the mosaic law anymore, thanks to Jesus Christ. But do you not realize you just provided scripture that goes against what you’re saying…again in John 4:23-24 spirit and truth was described in previous tweet. But the what does Ephesians say again in chapter 5? “SINGING PSALMS….” Psalm 150….i mean…I’m not trying to come off as snarky but man, you’re building a case against yourself by your own doing…where again does it say this concert style is wrong when the scripture you even provided says to sing the psalms? lol

I mentioned John 4:23-24 first, I’m not sure if you saw it. Yes, God never changes in character, but the New Testament gives us a clear new standard for worship. Jesus said the hour has come for true worshipers to worship the Father in spirit and in truth, moving away from the old temple rituals and practices. Psalm 150 was under the Old Covenant, it doesn’t automatically carry over. The New Testament pattern for the church is humble, Spirit-led, and from the heart: singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with melody in the heart (Ephesians 5:19), done decently and in order. Concert-style hype, lights, and performance is not the same as that pattern, even if people feel reverence. Not every style is equally acceptable just because it’s loud or energetic, we are called to follow the New Testament model, not blend it with worldly entertainment. We all should uphold apostolic simplicity instead of saying “both are fine” when the Bible shows a clear direction.

Don’t you know God is the same yesterday as today and at the beginning of time? If God wanted us to praise Him in that way then, why would He not condone that now? I used John 4:23-24 as well earlier. I’m glad you mention that! “In spirit and truth” - what does that mean? It means to worship Him from the inside out. A true reverence and worship like you mention. You can worship Him as you mention, there is nothing wrong with that. But who are you to say that these people aren’t showing that same reverence by worshipping in this sense? Looks to me that they are worshipping God in a way that they find that same reverence. The Bible never says to not worship this way. You can’t find any biblical scripture that leads to that conclusion. Again, you’re not reading the scriptures in context my friend! Don’t just pick a verse and tie it to another. Read the paragraphs before and after AT MINIMUM to understand the context behind that specific meaning. They choose to worship with spirit and truth. Spirit meaning “being.” Are they worshipping how you like it? Apparently not, and it’s not my cup of tea either, frankly. But it doesn’t make it wrong. Are some there for the spectacle? Could be, but who am I to judge? But I also know plenty of born-again Christians that worship this way and have a true reverence and are on fire for the Lord. He just wants to be praised man. If that means loud instruments and loud singing to praise Him, that’s some people’s way of doing it. If it’s hymnals and slow organ type of praise, that’s just fine too. Scripture never tells us it’s wrong to praise Him this way lol

Psalm 150 describes Old Testament temple praise under the ceremonial Law, with instruments and dance in the sanctuary. However, the New Testament calls us to worship the Father in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24) with humility, reverence, and the Holy Spirit’s leading, making melody in the heart through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19) rather than worldly concert-style hype, lights, and fleshly performance that risks conforming to entertainment culture instead of being transformed by the renewing of the mind (Romans 12:2; Philippians 3:3). We all should uphold apostolic simplicity: kneeling in prayer, singing hymns, and yielding to the Spirit, not spectacles.

Well Psalm 150 already shows you that we are to praise Him this way. There’s nothing wrong with praising Him the way you choose, but this isn’t wrong either. Loud clashing cymbals, loud blows of the trumpets…it’s in scripture that this is okay. Romans 12:2 is you cherry picking and taking scripture out of context. That is talking about the body being your temple of worship. So if our bodies are the temple of worship and we are singing and praising g the Lord with how Psalm 150 says, we are doing the will of God. Transforming to the world and the renewing of your mind doesn’t mean we worship differently. It means we no longer live by our worldly standards, and have made our bodies the place of worship. Again, you are not using contextual comprehension when quoting scripture with Philippians 3:3. No where does that scripture ever mention to not praise in this form or fasion. Read the verse prior…are these people mutilating their flesh by dancing and singing and praising the Lord that Psalm 150 condones? A quick Google search doesn’t mean anything unless you read it in context first.

the concert-like worship with worldly hype, stage lights, and fleshly performance is wrong because Scripture commands true worshipers to worship the Father in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24) with humility, reverence, and the leading of the Holy Spirit rather than conforming to the world's entertainment styles (Romans 12:2; Philippians 3:3).

Kedua-duanya hanya pernyataan keyakinan masing-masing. Bagaimana ini boleh dikatakan penghinaan? Saya cuma nak jelaskan perbezaan supaya lebih faham, bukan nak membanding untuk hina sesiapa.

Hahahaha, ya Muslim, your stupidity is boring me now. The command doesn't just prove "some guidance remained." It orders them to judge by the books they had in their hands and calls them guidance and light. You keep running from the plain text with your "not word-for-word" nonsense. If the books were corrupted, Allah would not command judgment by them without warning. Your tahrif theory collapses here. I'm done wasting time with this circus. Use your brain or stay blind. Salam.

"The Bible is corrupted." That was my favorite argument as a Muslim. It ended conversations before they even started. Then I asked simple questions, because I wanted to better understand this argument: What does "corrupted" actually mean? Who changed it? When? Where? How? And where is the evidence? So I started digging. I discovered that the New Testament has over 5,800 Greek manuscripts, with some fragments dating within decades of Jesus. Compare that to the works of Plato. His works survive in just a handful of manuscripts copied over a thousand years later, yet no one dismisses The Republic as "corrupted." Then I read the Quran again. Surah 5:46 says Allah gave Jesus the Gospel. So I had a dilemma: Either God gave a trustworthy Gospel to Jesus and His people... Or God failed to preserve His own revelation. Yikes. That isn't a small question. It forced me to stop repeating slogans and start examining evidence. Looking back, I didn't reject the Bible because I had disproved it. I rejected it because I was afraid it might be true. If it was true, it would cost me everything - and I knew that!  Sometimes the biggest obstacle to truth isn't a lack of evidence. It's the fear of what believing it might require from you, if it was true.

Hahahaha, ya akhi, stop lying to yourself. You are not reading what it says. The Quran clearly commands the Jews and Christians in the 7th century to judge by the Torah and Injil they had in their hands at that time and it calls those books "guidance and light." You are the one running and adding your own words: "some truth remains, so it's okay." The Quran never said that. Why would Allah tell people to judge by corrupted books without any warning? Use your brain, wallahi. Stop playing games.

No, that's not my assumption. The Quran directly tells the Jews and Christians of that time to judge by the Torah and Gospel they physically had in their hands right then. It even calls those books "guidance and light." If those existing scriptures were already too corrupted to trust (as the common tahrif claim suggests), why would the Quran command them to judge by them? That's the contradiction your "original revelation only" response doesn't address.
