Spirit Airlines died tonight at the hands of the socialist crusader, Elizabeth Warren She must be so proud to add another casket to her achievements. Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service. JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes. The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%. For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%. Warren said no. She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024. Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year. Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug. 510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December. 14,000 jobs in 2023. 7,500 last week. Zero tonight. And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms. Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. Every airline job carries 3 more on its back. 40,000 people out of work because of one woman’s moronic crusade against the market. And the math ain’t mathing. Spirit abandoned 90 routes during the death spiral. Fares on those routes are up 14% on average. Oakland to Newark: $135 to $288. Fort Myers to San Juan: $92 to $219. Kansas City to Newark up 66%. That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.” So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money? Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years. Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do. Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.” A win. 14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight. And she’s taking credit. This is socialism in 2026. A senator who’s never made payroll thinks she knows how to run a market better than the people who own and work in the company. She saved you a billion on imaginary paper. She cost you ten times that in real life. She didn’t protect consumers from anything. 14,000+ will go from working to welfare. She will make sure to blame billionaires, hardworking tax payers, AI, capitalism and whatever monster they will make up tomorrow hiding under your bed. Higher taxes. Fewer jobs. More expensive everything. She called it a win. I hope you enjoy winning.

No one should be surprised but what he left out is that this turbine costs an estimated $50-80 million to build and install. It only produces power 35-45% of the time because wind is intermittent. Its output degrades 12-16% over its 20-25 year lifespan. It requires hundreds of tons of steel, concrete, fiberglass, and rare earth minerals mined largely in China (his favorite country). The other 55-65% of the time you need backup power, which comes from natural gas. And it exists only because of massive government subsidies. A natural gas plant of the same 26MW capacity costs $26-39 million, produces more than double the effective output, runs on demand 24 hours a day regardless of weather, and lasts 30-40 years. Half the price. Double the output. No weather dependency. No subsidies required. But this was never about the environment. If it were, you would care that rare earth mining for wind turbines devastates landscapes across China and Africa, that thousands of birds and bats are killed annually by turbine blades, that the blades themselves are non-recyclable fiberglass rotting in landfills, and that natural gas produces half the emissions of coal with none of these problems. You ignore all of this because environmentalism was never your goal. It is your vehicle. The destination is what it has always been: government control of energy production, which means government control of the economy, which is socialism. Rand identified this decades ago. The green movement is not a scientific movement. It is a political one, and its target is not pollution. It is capitalism.
BladeoftheSun@BladeoftheS

The World's largest Wind Turbine 26MW. In its lifetime it will produce the same energy as burning 750,000 tons of coal. That's 44,118 truck loads. And that's just 1 Wind Turbine.

It's all New Age occultism just dressed up for different audiences. Oprah Winfrey dressed it up for bored housewives. Tucker for overly political conspiracy types. Candace for "everything is out to kill me" crazy ladies. Tate for insecure young men. But it's all the same lie.

Did you know that back in 1985, the entire legal staff of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) resigned en masse? They did so in solidarity after leadership made an odd/strategic pivot to focus on fundraising, whereby they would be soliciting donations from liberal donors nationwide in order to generate massive revenue by becoming a 'hate monitoring' group instead of doing civil rights-oriented legal work for minorities, as per why the organization was founded.

@kimsmithholmes That’s because politics is down stream of culture and we become what we tolerate. Ben Sasse was my write-in candidate in 2016 because I was so disgusted with the two choices. He is what true conservatism looks like when it is rooted in the absolute objective truth of the Gospel.

A lot of people are asking why more politicians are not like Ben Sasse. Because voters will not elect them, that’s why. They may say they care about character, but most don’t vote that way. Instead they vote party line, ideology, self-interest, or out of pique against a perceived enemy. How can we expect our leaders to embody higher levels of virtue if a majority of voters don’t make personal character a red line? It looks like we get the leaders we deserve.

What we have are: •The assassination of Charlie Kirk. •Two assassination attempts on Donald Trump by known progressives, plus a third in Butler, PA, where the kid was clearly mentally ill. •The attempted assassination of Brett Kavanaugh. •The attempted assassination of Josh Shapiro and his family. •The attack upon the Alvaredo, Texas ICE facility that left a local police officer wounded. •The attack upon the McAllen, Texas ICE facility that left three officers injured. •The attack on the Dallas, Texas ICE facility that left one dead and others critically wounded. •And what CNN calls “Rep. Steve Scalise shot,” which was actually a mass assassination attempt on 24 Republican members of Congress, in which 4 people, including Congressman Scalise, were shot by James Hodgkinson. ewerickson.substack.com/p/the-lefts-as…

They arrested the President of the United States of America 4X, charged him 91X, indicted him 4X, spied on his campaign, sabotaged his first term, jailed his supporters, raided his private residence, censored him, gagged him, tried to bankrupt him, and attempted to remove him from state ballots. When all of that failed they tried to assassinate him not once but four times. And they go on national television to talk about how we need to vote for them to save democracy.

Much of the reason for the present dysfunction in America is that the leftist terrorists of the 1970s, from the Black Liberation Army to the Weather Underground, never faced any real consequences for being terrorists For one, that meant they went on to become influential writers and professors, and imparted the New Left's hatred of Western Civilization on countless more lefties, building the race communist left of today and imbuing it with the same desire to destroy everything that rises above the favela, but also smarter tactics Whether Bill Ayers teaching students or Chesa Boudin picking up his mom's legacy to destroy American cities, that wouldn't be happening if a president with a spine had dealt with them properly Further, not sending them to the gibbet or gallows taught the other members of the radical left that they can get away with whatever they want, including murder, if it's done in the name of leftism. They internalized that lesson, and nothing has yet dissuaded them from it

Will Tanner@Will_Tanner_1

The radical left waged what amounts to an urban guerrilla campaign against America in the name of race communism in the 1970s They ambushed and assassinated cops. They carried out thousands upon thousands of bombings, and blew up skyscrapers, offices, and homes. They robbed banks, kidnapped Patty Hearst, and unleashed a flood of heinous crime and anarchy unlike anything we’ve ever seen. They turned New York, LA, and elsewhere into living hells blighted by drugs, crime, and squalor It only ended because by the end America was too exhausted to care anymore. Every president—Nixon, Ford, Carter, and Reagan—too touch the issue was too cowardly to liquidate them Now we have Chesa Boudin and his Wren Collective intentionally making crime and life worse in blue zones; he’s the son of Kathy Boudin, the Weather Underground terrorist. Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn are friends with and advisors to Obama, with Ayers even ghostwriting a book for Obama; they too were murderous Weather Underground terrorists. Now they’re professors! The black panthers are still around. Dozens of new groups, like Antifa and the John Brown Gun Club, have risen These resurgence of leftist terror must be nipped in the bud this time, and be ruthlessly crushed. America will not survive it metastasizing

A major reason a large segment thinks that Israel killed Charlie and has attempted to kill Trump multiple times is because it's psychologically a lot easier pill to swallow than the idea that the Left is extremely violent and lives right next door to you. You know that you are not a significant figure and that a foreign government on the other side of the planet doesn't really care about you one way or the other. You are an accountant or an HVAC guy. You are well aware that the Mossad isn't going to kill you. But the idea that guy who lives down the street who talks about "empathy" and "kindness" and "healthcare for everyone" would put a bullet in your head over the Trump sign in your yard is far more terrifying. I have been very critical of America's relationship to Israel, but the obsession over it by many is actually a defense mechanism that allows you to pretend the threat to your way of life and your life itself isn't right in front of you at all times. "No, there isn't a radical left all around us who want us dead. All those posts celebrating Charlie's death were just, uh, Israeli bots. This is all just a distraction from the Epstein Files. We actually can work with the Left to oppose Israel." This is the kind of stuff Russian peasants would say about the Bolsheviks in late 1916.

A friend in Maskachusetts is married to a Honduran. Every time one of his wife's relatives is pregnant she comes to stay with them. When it is time to deliver the baby, the relative Ubers to one of the most expensive hospitals in the world, e.g., Beth Israel. She gives birth, says the magic words to avoid ever receiving a bill ("I'm undocumented"), and, after a few weeks, heads back to Honduras with baby, birth certificate, and U.S. passport. This one family has likely cost taxpayers at least $300,000 in payments to the hospital for "uncompensated care" and more than 10 U.S. citizens have been minted. When the kids are adults they have an automatic right to sponsor their parents for green cards, so eventually this one family will be responsible for perhaps 40 or 50 legal immigrants from Honduras to the U.S.

"Can the libtard NGO complex find sinecures for its foot soldiers" is a massively important question SV business model: Angel invests in founder, founder builds until he can get acquired or go public, they both make $$$ Libtard business model: donor invests in founder, founder builds until he can get taxpayer funded - the money flows in the form of sinecures, & they both get power (& also $$$) Right now, the whole machine expects to be able to undo everything Trump has done - they're holding on, tightening their belts, living on credit cards - but they're still in the game, they're not taking computer classes This is why the libs can't return to the status quo ante bellum - it's not enough to defeat Trump If it looks like a Trump figure could ever come back, & therefore the "libtard NGO sinecure" career path is at the whims of democratic elections, the risk premium on being a libtard NGO stooge will go way up, & possibly break the business model (If you go to school to be a libtard NGO stooge, you're not good for anything else - college kids have to know they'll have a place to land) The fact that NYT is even signaling this is a dramatic escalation - this is the lifeblood of their institutional loyalty

in Larry Riven’s Ringworld stories, the Ringworld is a constructed ring around a star and so is a massive land area. At some point in the past, its civilization collapsed leaving a massive area home to a huge number of hominids of various types and no other native fauna. so, over the aeons, the formerly sapient humanoids evolve to fill every ecological niche: scavenger, vermin, everything. what an implausibly fantastic premise, i think to myself as i commute home on the NY subway
