Yesterday, Beacon filed a lawsuit in federal court on behalf of ExoticRidge Crypto Company LLC against Hawkins County, challenging the county’s sweeping ban on data centers and cryptocurrency mining operations as unconstitutional, arbitrary, and enacted in violation of Tennessee law. Thank you, @JasonZacharyTN and @SenBoWatson, for leading the charge to protect taxpayers. Local elected officials—mayors, city council members, county commissioners, and their taxpayer-funded associations—might have succeeded for now, but we will not stop until taxpayers have the protections they deserve.

.@SouthwestAir’s new motto: “We’re Spirit Airlines at twice the price.” They’re so incompetent at boarding that they’re going to charge customers to check bags AND carry them on. What a joke they’ve become. mensjournal.com/travel/southwe…

@thehatecrew615 @BeaconTN @JohnnyGarrett While I applaud Florida's leadership on this, Florida's not getting rid of them like they claim. Only shifting it from primary homeowners to businesses and other property owners.

Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell wants his constituents to believe that higher property taxes are due solely to rising property values. Does he expect us to forget last year’s 26% property tax increase? Or the 34% increase that the Metro Council—of which he was a member at the time—imposed in 2020? Not going to happen. Enough is enough. It’s time that Tennessee joined 46 other states in having a statewide cap on local property taxes. Cities like Nashville shouldn’t be able to keep spending taxpayer dollars on frivolous pet projects and corporate welfare deals, then coming back to taxpayers with their hands out—not asking for but demanding more money—when the pot is empty. @SenBoWatson You should've spoken to Justin about SB 2040 if he plays such a big role in shaping legislation. This bill could shut down a bunch of pharmacies in the state, which would leave plenty of patients without access to their medicine... lowerrxprices.org/blog/tennessee…

ICYMI... Last month, we released new statewide polling data, and one thing is clear—Tennesseans are fed up with unlimited, unrestrained local property tax increases. This Beacon Poll data shows that an overwhelming 90% of Tennesseans believe there should be a limit on how much property taxes can increase each year in Tennessee, with voter approval required for any increase above that limit. Do you agree? Send a message to lawmakers —> speak4.io/lp/ev01ss5r

Unions have indeed tapped into the recent rise in populism, even among conservative voters right here in Tennessee. But voters are clearly reluctant to buy into everything the unions stand for, especially when it erodes their individual rights. timesfreepress.com/news/2026/feb/…

TN is one of 4 states with no cap on property tax increases. Per a ⁦@BeaconTN⁩ poll, 90% of Tennesseans support a cap. I have a bill to cap and discussed today after Session. Big deal for Knox County as we prepare to elect a new Mayor. Details 👇🏻.

.@NESpower’s lack of a strategic disaster relief plan, pro-tree canopy policy and being more concerned about a DEI contract renewal - all of which jeopardized public safety - requires executive management to be fired and the board to be replaced. In contrast, our rural electric cooperatives focused on the customer, was much more prepared, had more lineman and showed exactly how to work to effectively and efficiently to restore power. The General Assembly will explore every option available with the stance NES cannot stay the same. NES failed not some customers, but all. @freddieoconnell @VoteMarsha @mattmurphyshow @DanMandisShow @MichealLeahyp44
