🚨 Fun Fact: Birmingham City Council has spent around £33 million dealing with the bin strike. The strike started because the council wanted to save £1.2m in staff costs. £33m… to save £1.2m. This is how badly our councils are run.

Wild that you can say "Labour spent more money trying to break strikes than settling them" and if your audience is sufficiently right wing they'll still be in the comments and quote tweets blaming "socialism" and the unions.

@jan_murray @TfL You do know that if this is about gender identity, the people who they're accommodating here are individuals who you consider women, right? Non binary pregnant people and pregnant trans men.

@TomHCalver It's not really nihilism if you're trying to make things better mate, it's hope. Nihilism is when you say "the blood-drenched miserable status quo is the best it's ever been and ever will be, so shut up and stop demanding better".

Demographically, Green and Reform voters could not be more different. But they do share a nihilism that expresses in different ways Reform voters believe things were better in the past. For the Greens, things were never good to begin with. 2/2 Column: thetimes.com/article/d6f7af…

Green support is rising under Zack Polanski. Who are its new voters? The party's new voter base is younger, student-y, more female, and less financially comfortable than their 2024 voters. They are the heirs of Corbynism: 39% of current supporters backed Labour in 2019 1/2

@esjesjesj I think if I were the waiter I'd be inclined to pop out to the nearest shop, buy the cheapest microwave burger I could possibly find, and then give it to Saxon (ideally still in its wrapper). Then charge $2,000.

The theater kids that actually take the extra steps and make all the effort to practice, perform and uphold all these quirky dances and cultural traditions for fun are almost exclusively all bleeding heart Liberals and you hate them.

In some cultures, women get down on all fours & twerk while throwing up gang signs. In Irish culture, women dance through the forest like angels. WE. ARE. NOT. THE. SAME.

@TheHoffisking85 @PotatoMcWhiskey So in other words - perfectly fine, and in fact full of creative people with interesting lives who are happy living among a range of races and cultures, instead of whinging little cowards who piss their pants whenever they walk past a mosque

Greta Thunberg in 2023: If we don't end fossil fuels, it will be a "death sentence." Greta Thunberg in 2026: President Trump must allow oil imports to Cuba. I guess the "climate crisis" has negotiable deadlines.

@tcollins000123 @NJ_Timothy No, but if society pursues policies which do not, as a whole, reduce crime, then law-abiding members of the public are still more likely to be victims. Which is what we should be worrying about, not whether individual criminals are 'punished enough'.

@NJ_Timothy This sort of outlook is exactly the reason crime is rampant in this country. First and foremost, people in prison cannot commit crimes against law abiding members of the public.

I see no coherent explanations that ring true for how exactly these abysmal clowns could have rescued their party from “an existential threat” and then swiftly tanked it to fourth in the polls, while nobody important was wrong about anything at all.

The British public have never voted for mass immigration, yet we have still got it. Even in 1965, 90% of the British public wanted stricter immigration and the UK was already over 99% White British. This shows the betrayal of the British people by the ruling class.

When I was about 8 years old I realised women are thoroughly dishonest, believe in irrational things and have very little knowledge about the world. A particularly memorable story was my teacher lying to embarrass me and cover her mistake because I corrected her that Venus was the hottest planet. Stuff like that, the cheating, the lying and my friends having their families destroyed.

This foid brought a tiny baby into the chamber. Women are brats by nature. They make provocative displays and demand more and more rights until you put them in their place. Get them out of politics.

Horrified to see Hannah Spencer being subjected to this during her maiden speech - and sadly know its common place attack on women in public life. Attacking women for what they look like shows you fear what they say. Or that they can speak without your consent at all. It speaks more to your insecurities than them..

@Free_ByTheSea @writethewrongs2 @Middlesaxon2 @grok It's fun, colourful, and looks nice according to her own personal preferences. It is individual (the anti-establishment Left often tending to view personal expression over aesthetic conformity) and presumably gives her confidence. What more do you need to know.

@writethewrongs2 @Middlesaxon2 @grok That’s absolutely correct. It’s her CHOICE. The question, which was often asked on Snog Marry Avoid, is what’s going on inside her psychologically to make her CHOOSE to dress like that? That’s what I’m interested in.

Have you ever watched reality television show ‘Snog Marry Avoid’? I asked @grok to do a POD style makeunder, and dress Hannah Spencer in a simple white blouse and black pencil skirt, and smarten up her hair. Anyone who thinks her presentation is irrelevant should take a look. She dresses like a child for a reason. That concerns me.

A new report shows hitting our climate targets by 2050 costs less than one oil shock costs the UK. We need a rapid transition to clean energy to shield people & the economy from price spikes every time oil prices jump. Some commentators still can’t connect those dots…
