Got promoted as unofficial race director - for the 1st edition of Aapla Tilak Nagar 5K.🙈 Chaotic week, sleepless night but we hosted 800+ 🏃‍♀️, predominantly 1st timers. Number is not big, but the achievement is, for us. Was once a dream. & almost had tears at the start line.🥹

In the last 3/4 days, two well known celebrities have written about our state of #Uttarakhand. First, Shri @anandmahindra wrote about the Phool Dei festival which promptly elicited a reply from our elated Chief Minister @pushkardhami. In stark contrast, @Suhelseth who was recently in the hill station of #Nainital has written about the death of the town. I wonder if CM Dhami will respond to Suhel Seth with similar alacrity as the softer Phool Dei greetings. While celebrating culture and drawing attention to grim existential challenges are vital, I would personally appeal to the national celebrities to throw greater light on the range of environmental and climate challenges being faced by the people of our state. It is only when you tweet or react that our political masters tend to notice and respond. While I understand that it might be politically inconvenient for you, I nonetheless urge you to use your power of reach to move the needle in the right direction. Thank you!

I must confess that until recently I had never heard of Phool Dei, a spring festival that was celebrated yesterday in the villages of Uttarakhand. Children gather fresh flowers from the hills and go from house to house placing them on doorsteps, offering a blessing for the household: “Phool Dei, Chhamma Dei, Deni Dwar, Bhar Bhakar…” roughly wishing the home prosperity. In return they receive sweets. It reminded me a little of Halloween in the U.S., where children go door to door saying “trick or treat.” But what a lovely contrast. Here the children arrive not threatening a prank, or asking first, but giving first. Flowers. In an age when we speak so much about environmental consciousness, this graceful celebration of spring and nature deserves to be far more widely known. Just as Holi travelled across India and the world, perhaps Phool Dei should too. For me, the children of Uttarakhand are my #MondayMotivation

कोर्ट से आरोप मुक्त होते ही केजरीवाल रो पड़े और कोई भी इंसान यही करता। जिस तरह से CM समेत कैबिनेट मंत्रियों को जेल डाला गया था। वो पॉलिटिकल वेंडेटा था,एजेंसियों का दुरुपयोग पहले दिन से दिख रहा था। कोर्ट में साबित भी हुआ। मगर जिस तरह से मीडिया ट्रायल किया गया, कथित शराब घोटाले में किसी को Kingpin, किसी को King कहा गया, महीनों एंकरों की गला फाड़ प्रतियोगिता चली। अख़बारों के फ्रंटपेज पर मोटी-मोटी हेडलाइन छपी। व्यक्ति समेत परिवार को लांछित किया गया,उसका कोई हिसाब हो सकता है? आरोप लगते ही दोषी मान लेने वाली संपादकीय सोच को कम से कम अब तो सचेत हो जाना चाहिए। क्योंकि ये जो मैंने 4 लाइन, 40 सेकेंड में लिख दिया है,केजरीवाल और उनकी टीम के लिए 40 महीने झेली गई यातना है। शारीरिक,मानसिक और सामाजिक यातना।

I feel a stab of pain in my heart as I see the scenes of distress and violence in Ladakh. 4 people have been killed over 70 wounded. The people of Ladakh are such simple and sweet people. Being Buddhists they are so kind hearted. Yet They make the best mountain troopers in the world. They have laid down their lives to defend India and earned so many awards for bravery( including Ashok chakras). I feel so distressed at any suffering in that Shangrila. Ladakh is a very vital and strategic border state. We simply cant afford to alienate these brave and patriotic people. We must be SENSITIVE to any distress or suffering there .I am told that the CIA playbook is being played again and NGOs are pumping money to stage a coloured revolution. The CIA always fishes in troubled waters. Ladakhi demands are not outlandish. They want Sixth Schedule of the constitution. What is so wrong with that? The BJP had promised it. Why cant we give it? It is there in the NE States and in ALP. The youth is facing unemployment and are heavily on to the Social media. Hill-states are ecologically fragile. I feel we must Molly coddle and nurture such brave & patriotic people. India cant afford to alienate them. Violence however is wrong and the LAW and order must be enforced. But we must be very sympathetic to any genuine grievances. For Gods sake We cant afford to be insensitive in such a Vital border state.

So @Wangchuk66 once attending a media event organised by Dawn newspaper (the biggest newspaper group) in Pakistan is pitched as one of the reasons for deeming him to be ‘anti national’? That’s like saying that if a Pakistani attends a Times of India media event, he will be branded anti national by their establishment. Can our cops at least find better evidence to arrest someone of his stature summarily under NSA? 🙏 (Pl don’t forget as a Magsaysay award winner, Wangchuk work has been globally recognised).
