@AAgather TT has to be dealt with as well, for us stakeholders to believe it's an anti Corruption fight and not something else.

Per night. This is what a total number of nights looks like. Half a billion for one trip which was even “official leave”. The example I am using is still Among’s but I know for a fact that when her perdiem was increased to $4,000 a night, her deputy’s was increased to $3,500. He also got the annual official leave.

@AAgather But you people! When you say per diem of USD 3,500, do you mean per night or a total number of nights? Are we in the same impoverished country of Uganda with these people @Thomas_Tayebwa, @AnitahAmong and others? Do they sleep in the clouds whey they travel abroad?

I have settled for this one. Dear useless taxpayers, do you know anyone who can instruct @URAuganda to exempt it from taxes? Also advise me on what to steal from you to pay for it. Mzee is our generational Jesus Christ, and we will support him forever. MK is the greatest soldier of the 21st century, and our leader in waiting.

@norbertmao @AAgather One does it in plain sight, primitively, the other is more sophisticated and brings a more sinister dimension to it.

@AAgather I stand corrected. Thanks to new data. Even those who believed that the sun moved around the earth eventually changed their position when faced with new information. But let’s face this matter with seriousness and honesty: assuming both I and the outgoing Speaker were charged with corruption and knowing the high standard for a criminal conviction, namely beyond reasonable doubt, whose file would have enough evidence to secure a conviction?
Agather Atuhaire@AAgather

I can’t stop laughing at this😂😂 I am happy you people keep receipts because I knew he had defended her at some point but didn’t remember the zeal with which he did😂 I swear politicians are not normal people😂😂

Meaning, the Speaker's new vehicle at Ugx 3.4Bn is worth more than the total amount of money ( Ugx 3.3Bn) which was allocated to 21 highlighted districts (apart from Apac) in the recent supplementary budget. The irony, supplementary budget was passed by Speaker on May 5,2026 😭

@Iyoaiye_ South Africans are shaming the African continent. They have performed very poorly at governance since the white man gave way.

BREAKING NEWS : Botswana cuts electricity to South Africa and closes its borders President Duma Boko has declared a state of emergency and announced drastic measures against South Africa, amid escalating tensions fueled by accusations of xenophobia against Botswana citizens. Among the most striking decisions is the cutoff of electricity to several South African provinces—an unprecedented move that risks worsening the already severe energy crisis in the neighboring country. In addition, the Botswana government has ordered the immediate closure of its borders and demanded the return of all its citizens currently in South Africa. In a firm speech, Duma Boko strongly criticized the treatment of Botswana nationals, recalling his country’s historical support during the struggle against apartheid. "We helped you fight oppression, and today our children are being humiliated."

President @KagutaMuseveni has assented to eight pieces of legislation, including the National Drug and Health Products Authority Act, 2026, which expands regulation across medicines, vaccines, medical devices, diagnostics, cosmetics, and other health products, strengthening safety and oversight. Also assented to were the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, 2026, introducing mandatory energy standards, audits, and regulation of inefficient technologies, and the Non-Performing Assets Recovery Trust (Repeal) Act, 2024, which dissolves the Trust and transfers its functions to the Ministry of Finance to streamline operations. The Employment (Amendment) Act, 2025 strengthens protections for domestic, casual, and migrant workers, while the Forensic and Scientific Analytical Services Act, 2026 enhances forensic systems and evidence handling. Other laws assented to include the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights (Amendment) Act, 2026, the Public Enterprises Reform and Divestiture (Amendment) Act, 2024, and the Magistrates Courts (Amendment) Act, 2026.

@SpireJim @AndrewMwenda Andrew occupies a unique space, he is friends with some of the crooks who dupe the president, an associate of the first family and PLU002 or something, so you wonder about his objectivity in penning such an article.

The bigger problem that @AndrewMwenda doesn’t acknowledge in this article is the killing of institutions that would have checked the President’s power to make unilateral decisions. If the country primarily runs on the President’s decisions, what Mwenda explains is what is bound to happen when that President ages in power. Even if Mwenda’s friend became president of Uganda under the current presidentialist system, the mess could even be worse. independent.co.ug/when-old-age-s…
