Moroccan Asylum Seeker Who Slaughtered British Pensioner Is Charged With Trying To Murder Prison Officers. A Moroccan asylum seeker who was jailed for life over a terrorist attack that left a 70 year old grandfather dead has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking prison officers behind bars. Ahmed Ali Alid, 47, is already serving life for the cold blooded murder of Terence Carney in Hartlepool in October 2023, an attack the judge branded a terrorist act motivated by the Israel-Hamas conflict. Now, just two years into his sentence, Alid faces fresh charges of attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. Counter Terrorism Policing confirmed the charges yesterday. Alid is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court tomorrow. Alid, who arrived in the UK by ferry and claimed asylum, was housed with other migrants in Hartlepool when he launched his horrific spree on October 15, 2023, eight days after the October 7 Hamas atrocities. He burst into the bedroom of his sleeping housemate, Javed Nouri, a Muslim who had converted to Christianity and stabbed him six times while screaming Allahu Akbar. Mr Nouri survived the attack. Alid then roamed the streets with two kitchen knives looking for another victim. He spotted grandfather of four Terence Carney out for an early morning walk, pushed him to the ground and stabbed him six times in the chest, abdomen and back. As Mr Carney lay dying, Alid told police he had carried out his crimes for the people of Gaza and in revenge for what Israel had done to innocent children. He chillingly added that if he had owned a machine gun, he would have killed many more. At his trial, Alid showed no remorse. The judge, Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb, declared the murder of Mr Carney a terrorist offence, saying Alid had hoped to frighten the British people and undermine the freedoms they enjoy. He was handed a whole life sentence with a minimum term of 45 years. But even behind bars, the danger has not ended. Sources close to the case say the new charges relate to an alleged violent attack on prison officers. Full details of these new offences are expected to emerge in court tomorrow. #UKNews #CrimeNews #Hartlepool
