I am boycotting businesses that heavily rely on Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker program. The labor shortage narrative fails basic economics: true shortages should raise wages to attract local talent or drive innovation. TFW artificially suppresses wages, locks Canadian youth out of entry-level jobs, forces regional depopulation, and erodes workplace standards. The program has become permanent corporate welfare through lobbying, subsidizing low-wage models at the expense of the Canadian middle class. I now direct my money exclusively to local employers who pay competitive wages to Canadian workers.
