When you do posts for the sake of a post but are actually fake simply to get division. Verses that discuss women’s rights These include topics like: Marriage Divorce Inheritance Financial rights Consent Protection Modesty Treatment of women Mothers’ status Daughters’ value Prohibition of female infanticide These appear in many chapters, especially: Surah An‑Nisa (The Women) Surah Al‑Baqarah Surah Al‑Ahzab Surah At‑Talaq Surah An‑Nur If you count all verses touching on these topics, the number rises to well over 100.

Muslim woman in burqa reads the Quran for the first time and decides to leave Islam. “I read the whole Quran, but didn’t find a single verse about women in heaven. Women get nothing. It is all about men.” She’s 100% right!

@KOhtobide @benonwine @M61449Crusher That’s where being thin skinned comes into it. You let people control you by taking offence all the time; much better to laugh off such nonsense and save the blood pressure for when someone really deserves it.

Brits often call Americans“Yanks.” After seeing claims that it could now be considered “racial harassment,” Question for my American friends and followers…. Does being called a Yank actually bother you? 🇺🇸🇬🇧

@Grim60696847085 @benonwine @M61449Crusher Of course offence is something that can be deliberately intended. Words are used with the intention of causing offence all the time, especially on X. The offended person can decide to ignore it, which most of the time is a sensible reaction, but the offence is still there.

@KOhtobide @benonwine @M61449Crusher Offence is not something you give, it’s something you take. It’s entirely within your power to decide whether or not to take offence to something as banal as being nicknamed after a citrus fruit.

@KOhtobide @benonwine @M61449Crusher You sound terrifically thin-skinned. ‘Limey’ simply comes from the fact that British seamen had to rely on limes to stave-off Scurvy, because they couldn’t get Mediterranean oranges or lemons as they were controlled by the French and Spanish.

This puppy definitely deserves a hero badge! I was so worried about those little ducklings, but this brave pup didn’t hesitate to jump right in and help. The way they interact is just too precious—proof that kindness has no species!

@benonwine @plshakes1 I don't think your reactions are those of the average person then. You are the opposite of a snowflake (whatever that is). The thing about 'tosser' and 'limey' is that they were, at least originally, intended to be offensive.

@benonwine @M61449Crusher Being called a Limey would certainly offend me. And I don't much like being called a Brit either. As for Yank, I suppose an American from the South might object.

@goueeik @jk_rowling If people come in diffferent categories, distinguished by different biological characteristics, as they do (female/male, old/young, ablebodied/disabled) then there certainly should be special rights for each category.

@jk_rowling Women have equal rights. The basis for their rights is the humanity they have in common with all other people. There isn’t a special class of rights for any group of people based on any biological characteristic.

And what do you propose women’s rights should be based on instead of our sex, dear guru? Special lady feels? Spinny skirts and lipstick? Candyfloss coloured souls?

@brightestpet @sappholives83 The obsession that forced birthers have with DNA puzzles me. You do know, I suppose, that more than one person can have the same 'unique DNA' and that a single person can have more than one set of 'unique DNA'.

One of the most interesting facts I have come across recently is that until relatively recently, first trimester abortions were not considered to be abortions per se. Throughout most of the medieval period, the Catholic Church taught that a baby did not have a soul until it began to look like a human being. Abortion was not considered illegal unless the baby had developed that far. Anything else was just kind of considered birth control. The idea that life begins at conception is a relatively modern concept.

On one hand of course the boyfriend doesn’t get to decide how she chooses to give birth but on the other, choosing to have a c section because your mom doesn’t want you to go through labour pain is absolutely insane.

@HazelAppleyard Ultimately, while he doesn't get to say how she gives birth (as long as it's safe and not in an at home floating placenta bathtub with a goat as a midwife crazy stuff), if it means she can't have more kids, and they agreed on more, I think he has a right to be upset 🤷‍♂️

@ThePosieParker @OnChairs I think feisty is a compliment. At least I have always used it that way. It means assertive, not submissive, ready to express opinions and act on them, sure of your own worth. I would love to be called feisty.

This is MMA fighter Sean McInnes. When Anne Marie Boyle asked him to leave her alone, he punched her in the face so hard that he broke her cheekbone and her eye socket, knocked her unconscious, and left her with a life-altering brain injury. He was given less than two years behind bars. It would be a real shame if this post was widely circulated and impacted his career in a negative way.

One of the biggest lies of Atheism is that it's the position of "science". Don't believe me? Isaac Newton believed in God. Albert Einstein believed in God. Johannes Kepler believed in God. Galileo Galilei believed in God. Blaise Pascal believed in God. Robert Boyle believed in God. Michael Faraday believed in God. James Clerk Maxwell believed in God. Gregor Mendel believed in God. Louis Pasteur believed in God. Lord Kelvin (William Thomson) believed in God. Max Planck believed in God. Georges Lemaître believed in God. Francis Collins believed in God.
