@rcromwell4 @EsotericCD Rich! How are you? Your opinion is a fair take. I've read the book a few times, and at its heart, it is a cry for scientists to think about the implications of their research.

@_Peter_Cook @EsotericCD But also "Jurassic Park" is deeply philosophical and not really a dinosaur movie. This isn't exactly obvious if you haven't read the book. Regardless, Grant was pivotal!

Everybody's talking about Sam Neill like JURASSIC PARK is the only movie he's ever done. People, this guy lost his mind on screen in three of most memorable ways possible (POSSESSION, IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, and EVENT HORIZON) and you're talking about dinosaur stuff.

Donald Trump's second term may be remembered as the most preventable missed opportunity in American history. His stupid, misguided love of tariffs kept inflation alive, and his dithering in Iran has made the United States look weak.
Jeff Blehar is *BOX OFFICE POISON*@EsotericCD

who the hell knows what it actually even means beyond ever-more-escalatory, mindless bluster. but apparently now, in Trump's political extremity, his new solution is establishing permanent military presence and taxing the world for his error?

@mdrache Good guess (and great, but disturbing, movie), but my favorite movie was made years before that.

Sam Neill could be scary and unpredictable as the lead character playing roles in "In the Mouth of Madness" and "Event Horizon." He also managed to make us trust him as a calm, collected dinosaur expert in "Jurassic Park." He was a great actor.

@EsotericCD I remember watching it in the theater. It is a masterclass of building tension and anticipation and a failure at delivering on what its first half promised. I wanted it to be so much better than it was.

Newsom whining about Musk leaving California is actually pathetic. The parasites sure do get angry when the hosts decide to longer get sucked dry. "You should feel guilty about taking all of your tax revenue from our state!" "No, I feel pretty happy about taking my tax dollars somewhere else."

These people are ridiculous. They have lost all tethers to a sense of self. Their entire identity now relies on this treasonous hate of America. They make up fantasies of how horrible America never was to justify their need to "fight tyranny." They have no identity but this. And they cling to it with a death grip, because they have nothing else. None of it is true. Not the fantasy about America about which she is shrieking, not her identity of believing herself to be some "hero" in a movie about an oppressive government, and not the resulting congress-free, senate-free, President-free, childish (and completely chaotic) future she sees for this country. She is an infant. She and others like her will not get their way. Not even close. If you have a modicum of common sense, it's time to let your line in the sand about tolerance be made known. Myself, I have a limit to tolerance. I have a limit to patience. I know there is a limit to free speech. If your plan is to tear down the United States of America, if your plan is treason, I will not tolerate you, I will have zero patience for you, and I will not defend your right to free speech. @FBI @FBIDirectorKash

Gavin Newsom Says Elon Musk is ‘Turning His Back’ on California “Regulation in California created the conditions that allowed him to take the risk to become the multi-billionaire, maybe trillionaire, that he’s become … Now he’s turning his back on the state that promoted him.”

The Freddy Saga is a good reminder both of why normal, well-adjusted people often end up ceding the public square to a handful of deranged, overly online individuals and of why it is so important for normal folks not to do so.

Hello again. We’re currently in Clemson, South Carolina. I’ve decided to come back here to document the final part of our road trip. The main reason I deactivated my account two weeks ago was that things became increasingly toxic. For some people, it’s unfortunately unfathomable that a good story can exist without some kind of hidden agenda behind it. There was even a Reddit group going through my entire account trying to find anything they could use to reveal my identity. I know this was only a small percentage of people, but after a while it became exhausting. During the last two weeks, I received so many kind messages on Instagram, and they really made me realize how many people genuinely enjoyed following the trip. Some people even told me that their grandparents regularly ask them, “What are the Germans up to today?” I think that’s really cool. I decided to continue because I realized that the overwhelming majority of people loved following along. A small group of very loud people shouldn’t be able to ruin something that brought so many others joy. I also want to clear something up, as people who follow me on Instagram already know. I’ve been to the United States before. This is not my first visit, and I’ve never claimed that it was. The last time I was here was in January 2022, when I visited New York and Philadelphia. A lot of people shared my Raising Cane’s post from November 2025 to make it look like I was secretly American. That post wasn’t from the United States, it was from my trip to Saudi Arabia. This is my first time back in the U.S. in more than four years, and apart from Boston, I’d never visited any of the places we’ve been to on this trip before. That’s probably why many people assumed it was our first time in America, because for all of these places, it actually was. And let me tell you, Ohio and Alabama are very different from New York City or Los Angeles. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for reading.

The @MaineGirlDads ballot referendum was removed from the ballot after a legal challenge was filed over alleged invalid petition signatures. Will that same level of scrutiny be applied to the signatures required in the Dems Senate scramble?
