@VinceCoglianese One was never reached with North Korea in 1953. The long game. The IRGC is neutered. The Persian GP needs a future. The MOU is a road map to investments in democracy and capitalism. The Abraham Accords delegate Iran to the locals. Now, to ending the PRC.

@CSalcedoShow Government indemnification only covers unforeseen consequences of decisions made in good faith. The autopen pardons must be challenged, starting here is fine.

@carljacksonshow Not just the mid-terms, but clearing the runway for Warsh to reform the Fed, too. The MOU includes language like investor capital: do this..get that, unlike the BHO cash without strings attached. I remain waiting for the Persian GP to throw off the IRGC tyrants.

That MOU won’t work. We shouldn’t fool ourselves. If the 60 days weren’t up 2.5 mos outside of the midterms, I’d agree with you. As far as the IRGC being neutered I tend to agree, but with the relief of sanctions, they’ll recruit and grow stronger in hopes of bringing about the Madi.

Let’s see how many conservative wimps there are: I watched JD Vance promote a Christian book for days, while lying to us about what was in HIS “Vance Plan,” aka MOU. If it fails, I hope Trump blames him. Meanwhile, enjoy the cheaper gas before we head back to the ME.

@nedryun The U.S. Constitution included compromises to earn the approval of (future) Southern Democrats. It also included a sunset provision for slavery that eventually required White blood to spill. What a bitter bastard.

I wish we had finished them. We’re going to need to do it someday – this was kicking the can down the road. That said, it appears to me that Donald Trump accurately read that the American people are not willing to do what it takes to finish them. Instead, they think we’ve beaten them up enough, and now it’s time to move on to other things. They don’t consider that a humiliation. They consider that common sense. Again, not what I would’ve done. But I don’t think most Americans view this the way the hawks or I do.
Noah Rothman@NoahCRothman

Maybe voters won’t care much about the Iran war by 2028, but the Islamic Republic will not keep quiet over the next two years. There is almost certain to be a long tail on this national humiliation. Whoever Trump’s Republican successor is, he’ll be lugging the baggage of Trump’s surrender with him into the next presidential election cycle. nationalreview.com/corner/trump-t…

@hughhewitt @SecRubio @elianayjohnson @SethAMandel The Iranian campaign... of the 47-year Shi'ite jihad on Christianity. No human weapon can destroy evil. The IRGC attempts to undermine their gov't's surrender. Success here is only measured in time to a resurgence. Afterward, the heuristic of escalating violence may resume.

Some disagreement with guests today about what @SecRubio would do in aftermath of a genuinely terrible deal with the rump regime in Iran. @elianayjohnson and @SethAMandel think he has other priorities (like Cuba and Venezuela) that would keep him in place even after an awful agreement, but Secretary Rubio knows the evil nature of the regime. A principled official like Rubio can grimace through a bad punt like the MOU but it’s hard for me to believe he’d stay if President Trump ok’ed a lay-down for the Ayatollah. The MOU is like a “letter of intent” in the world of large real estate development projects. Even when backed by significant “earnest money,” such letters rarely signal a deal is imminent. This MOU is a particularly thin “letter of intent” as either side can exit at any time and the parties are so far from specifics that critics should consider the very real possibility that the president paused the combat in order to keep a supportive majority in at least one house of Congress. As Democrats have become a far-left party, that’s a legitimate objective especially when the national security is considered. The risk to the national security is why @SpeakerJohnson and @LeaderJohnThune ought to do everything possible to push Reconciliation 3.0 through. Even one house flipping will cripple defense spending much less procurement reform and the surge of spending into missiles and interceptions, drones and AI applications to targeting. The second round of this battle laid bare the gaps in America’s ability to protect our allies and defend international waterways. Republicans ought to see that clearly and act now.
Hugh Hewitt@hughhewitt

If the MOU actually envisioned a terrible final agreement w/the Islamic Republic instead of a punt to be followed by another punt followed by a post-elections return to clarity, I’d expect a resignation from @SecRubio who knows the nature of the IRGC and the regime it controls.

"The key to negotiating an end to the war is to always remember that Iran’s regime—its theocrats, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, military leaders, and elected officials—has no history of telling the truth or abiding by any agreement it signs. So the only means of enforcing concessions is to use disproportionate force each time Iran inevitably violates the terms of the armistice." amgreatness.com/2026/06/18/ira…

For those who say illegal immigration is a victimless crime…you’re full of CACA! 💩 Illegal immigration is wrong, immoral and bad for any nation forced to endure it by its political class! Illegal immigration is a plank in the Uniparty platform.

Anytime I see the American flag waving I'm truly in awe at how beautiful a sight it is -- so much so it inspired Francis Scott Key to write our national anthem. After the British burned Washington to the ground in the War of 1812, they headed to Baltimore. Key was detained on a British ship during the bombardment of Fort McHenry. The bombs were bursting all night long, but when dawn broke the next morning, Key looked out and despite all the fighting -- Old Glory was still waving above the fort, meaning Americans had successfully fought off the British. A beautiful sight I'm sure. The flag doesn't represent a president, a party, or the government. It is the living symbol of the greatest country and people in the world. If 63% of Democrats won't fly the American flag, I can only deduce that 63% of Democrats don't treasure what it stands for -- and these same 63% of Democrats likely vote, if that's any indication whether Democrats are voting for policies that protect and preserve America.

@KurtSchlichter The IRIS Dena was not a United States Ship (USS). It was an enemy combatant which is a legitimate target regardless of location. Her Captain could have docked at the nearest neutral port to "tap out".

Counterpoint: Just because the enemy are a bunch of incompetent losers doesn’t mean you can’t kill them
Sara@Sara39362921

@AmiDar Targeting a ship outside of any armed conflict isn't 'geopolitics'—it’s state-sponsored piracy. The USS Dena was returning from training, not battle. The hegemon’s moral collapse is complete when they start hunting down sailors in international waters like terr0rists.
